Morning all/afties Pat. Hang on in there @punkdoc. You'll turn a corner.
Can't remember my first song, although The Move would have been one of them. @chicky - they used to think it was one of Judy Collins' songs, 'cos Joni didn't release it as a single. She was very young when she wrote it. They moved in the same circles because of the Stephen Stills connection - he was Judy's boyfriend, and Graham Nash was Joni's. Both part of Crosby, Stills and Nash @steephill - I know. Beyond belief wasn't it? I don't know if they charged the ones from Motherwell a couple of weeks ago, but it wasn't mentioned. There are some unpleasant comments on walkhighlands. I switched off. Bampots lurking on that site too Rain's just about off here so I'll get out soon. Think it's now heading south. It was wet from evening onwards, so no pot watering for me yesterday, and probably today too. I can plant up more sweet peas as I got compost at the garage along the road again. It's good stuff too.Â

Good morning all đ âïžÂ i was so tired yesterday evening that I went to bed about 8:30! I slept through until OH got up and made our drinks at 7!  What was that about? it can only be due to too much h**sew**k yesterday ... thatâll larn me ... I wonât make that mistake again đÂ
So sorry lifeâs treating you so meanly @punkdoc ((hugs)). Wish there was something we could do đđ„ŒÂ
Son and his friends (many in the music industry) have been spending the lockdown compiling their ten best albums of all time. Incredibly difficult as their ârulesâ rule out the inclusion of âbest ofâ and other compilation-type albums.  So hard as sometimes it means you have to weigh up not including an album because it contains just one special track, against the others albums which have more ... thatâs something to occupy your mind. Iâll try to find his list for you ... I think youâd find it interesting ... and you too @Fairygirl ... youâll see I brought him up properly đÂ

'Best of' - it's always an interesting topic @Dovefromabove.  Don't know if you listen to Johnnie Walker on Sundays? He's been doing a little item of a few quiz questions recently, and one on Sunday just gone was - 'what was the best selling album of the 70's?' I was really surprised, and if you look at the list of the top 50 - there's some very big surprises! Here's a question for your son and his pals. Whose recordings outsold the Beatles and the Stones combined, at the end of the 60s? I think the rain was moving south, but not over your way Dove. It's all clearing to the south here now. It was funny leaving the house this morning - to the south east [over the moor to the invisible windfarm] black as sin. To the north west - over Glasgow, and the Arroachar hills - a clear stretch of blue sky and fluffy clouds Glad you had a good kip. I had several hours on the settee before I went to bed...

It's been raining here too - proper rain although it would need to keep going a while longer to do any good and I'm not sure it's going to. We'll see.
Thinking of you @punkdoc - I know you're in my mind when I find myself singing 'Somehwere in my Heart' from your sig line
I'd guess the best selling albums of the 70s are going to include the album bands like Pink Floyd and Led Zepp? If it's international sales, then I would have though Rumours would be up there - that's one that would be in my top ten - and the Eagles Hotel California?
The earliest music memories I have are from Junior Choice, which Dad liked to listen to on Saturday mornings. The New Seekers 'Island of Dreams' and the inimitable Bernard Cribbins of course. I am going to be singing 'Clouds' all day though.Â

Nope. I thought Dark Side of the Moon, or Night at the Opera, but you'll be really surprised. It was also right at the very start of the 70s. UK sales not world sales. It'll make perfect sense when you find out though!
@raisingirl - now I'm going to be singing 'Hole in the Ground' all day.... I suppose the first 'vocals' we would have been aware of growing up, as opposed to jazz or classical music, would have been Ella Fitzgerald. There was a prog on the other night about her - I've recorded it.Â
D'you want a clue? Probably the most famous duo in the 20th century. Title track is always voted in the top 2 or 3 best No 1 songs...Â

As my niece would say, âthatâs pantsâ @punkdoc. Have the Acute Pain Team seen you? I hope you have a better day today.
Be good everyone - catch you later.Â

Just as I was reading your line about Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, the into for Stairway to Heaven has just started on Radio 2
