Two things about that butterfly.  No, three.  It is beautiful, I've never heard of one before and how do you chaps get a butterfly to sit with its wings open long enough to a) identify it and b) take a picture?

Here they flit so fast they're a blur and don't sit still except with their wings closed.

Our forecast has changed.  Tomorrow's storms have gone away, just dark cloud now, and there will be dribbles on Saturday.  Bet they go away too.   Humph!

Gorgeous @chicky - and lovely that you were able to get a pic  :)
I wonder if they're more visible just now because there's less activity by people?
Mind you, I'm just watching the evening news, and the entire population seems to have forgotten the current problem. What the **** is wrong with these people? Yet they don't want to send their kids to school....
I feel heart sorry for all the residents near these beaches.

Way too hot for me - I've been in most of the day apart from collecting daughter. I put a washing out at half three and it was dry by about 5.  :D
We still have thunderstorm warnings here @Obelixx, but the last ones happened further west and south, so I'm not sure if they'll happen. Could do with it to clear the thundery air.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

we've got grockles starting to make an appearance in these parts. Lots of rather vulgar cars gadding about the place

They apparently had people abandoning cars on roundabouts in Bournemouth @Hostafan1. Don't know why they don't clamp them or tow them.  :/

Gorgeous butterfly. I haven't seen one either.

It's been a busy day. I've washed and ironed the sofa covers (bit of a struggle getting them off and on), washed the car, dead headed the climbing roses and done some watering. It's been hot.

Its quite distinctive even in flight.  It was Mr C who spotted it.  Then it swooped round to where we were sitting, landed on Chicklet’s arm (which is when I reached for my phone) and then flitted off to bask on the hot paving stones.  Then i flicked through my I-spy butterfly book page by page til I found him.  Apparently he likes bramble flowers, of which we have far too many for my liking .....but every cloud eh ☁️☁️☁️

Evening folks, we're sitting collapsed on the sofa, OH has a beer and I've given in and opened a bottle of Pinot. We've had 2 friends around for afternoon tea on the terrace but even though it was breezy under the umbrellas, had to resort to sitting in the orchard (2 apples & 1 pear tree!) where it was shadier. They've only just gone home and I'm exhausted. It's been 32c nearly all day, far too hot for me. I disinfected everything I could think off, got the best china out and washed it and then Miele broke just as OH was vacuuming this morning in readiness and it looks like the washing machine may be on the blink. Realized my antique lace tea cloths wouldn't of course fit on tables with umbrellas in the middle and had to improvise with linen napkins pinned together. The cream teas went down a treat, followed by walnut cake (courtesy of Sainsbury's, (too hot for me to cook). Don't envy Dordogne Damsel one bit and am keeping fingers crossed for her grand opening tomorrow. Thankg goodness the tables turned up.
Old Rushton gardens are on my list to see @Busy-Lizzie.

My son lives in Bournemouth - hope he didn't want to go anywhere today - it looks horrendous.

Happy for you but I'll just stick with the song and none of the other stuff @chicky.  Good for you and other fans that it wasn't all quashed by Covid, unlike what's happening in the smaller clubs outside of the main divisions.  Junior SIL is not happy about decisions lower down.
