Hello folks, didnt get on here yesterday, not sure why, didnt "do" anything, Hubby planted out the dahlias, I started off in pots.Ā  I labeled them all very carefully, garden is (was!!) colour co-ordinated, in drifts, Sir Alf Ramsey still labeled and Moms Dinner plate, the other labels have blasted worn off, so its pot luck, most of those I left in have survived only one has rotted.Ā  We were having "discussion", because I plant them just below the surface, and aparently on the bags, its says plant 10 inches deep, well they have come back for 2 years now.Terrible trouble with ants, even he got bitten all over.Ā  We had a tiny shower in the weeny hours, not enough, but better than nothing.Ā  I see the watch companies on the 10 0 clock news were saying we need to save water, because people are at home doing more washing up and washing are they, or is it filling paddling pools, and doing more gardening.

    Morning all/afties PatĀ
Nice to see you @GWRS and @Gardengirl... Could have sent you some big snails - they've taken a liking to hiding in my rocket. Better warn the girls if they're having any salad.... :D
That a PITA about the chairs @D0rdogne_Damsel. Hope you can get something suitable in time. Veg plot looks grand. Was it just the one glass you had?Ā  ;) Ā
I've been out, and in, and delivered daughter back to work. Spits and spots of rain but nice and cool. The elder flowers are all appearing and the rowans are starting to fade. A few foxy fellows around and some blackies getting their breakfast. Lovely.Ā
Not sure what today might bring. The little chrysographes irises are looking very pretty this morning in the dampness. Short lived in terms of flowering period, but I love them for their velvety flowers. Took this a few days ago.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

loads And loads of elderflowers on our walk round Hampshire countryside yesterday - we’re just sourcing the ingredients for this year’s cordial.

Bit of rain yesterday here, but not very much. Ā Just moved all my plants for summer pots into the cold frames for a week of Hardening off.

Got a good haul of gorgeous plants from Rosy hardy. Ā Some iris sibirica, some good tall verbascum, some echinacea pallida, a scabious, a dark leaved actea and some Veronica ā˜ŗļø

Down to visit Dad in his garden this afternoon - might need to take a coat this week 🄶

I’m very impressed with Charlie’s efforts. Such a lovely hobby for him to have.Ā

It was minus 4 here this morning. No rain as usual.😔

Hi everyone, we went to Kew gardens yesterday, it was great to have a (nearly) normal day out at last. They were irrigating with spray lines all over as it has been so dry, there was some drizzle later in the day about 3pmĀ  but it wasn't much. As we drove back up the S & N circular the damp fizzled out we have had no rain here at all. Confined to doing Hou**work today! As the late great TW would have said, someone must have "shopped" us to Matron & this is our punishment for having a nice day yesterday. Off to water the garden AGAIN .Ā
Best wishes to @punkdoc hope you get some relief soon.

Hello all. Got a turn on the laptop at last, someone has been on it most of the day.
But I don't really have a lot to say. It's been an HW day, dusted and de-cobwebbed the whole house. Had a long chat with a friend on the phone. Put up the hem of a dress I'd ordered which was very long, I like dresses a bit below the knee. Watched Escape to the Country and Garden Rescue.

Next I'm going to make Bread and Butter Pudding, I haven't made or eaten one for years and OH has told me he loves it.

Well done Charlie and @D0rdogne_Damsel for the veggie patch.

    Evening all,

Thank you for your kind comments re Charlie's veggie patch, he is very proud of it.Ā  :)

Gone a bit cooler here and some rain showers, thank goodness, but not enough really. The poor carpenter doing the terrace didn't appreciate it as much as my flowers but he kept on working through it.Ā

I did h*******k on Saturday, couldn't possibly do it again so soon. Well done @Busy-Lizzie and @Allotment Boy, very conscientious of you both.Ā

Having a sneaky takeaway this evening, the most delicious burgers, not cheap but worth it!Ā  ;)

    Good evening all.Ā  :)

You've done more H/W than me @Busy-Lizzie! I was supposed to but not in the mood so pottered about outside, had lunch and also watched Escape to the Country. I couldn't help wondering if that peaceful hamlet would welcome a party loving couple!
Has anybody noticed we now have space at the bottom of the pages? The old pages irritated the hell out of me so I'm glad its been revised.
