Hello everyone.  Good to be able to noodle again.

@Busy-Lizzie - donkeys' years ago I could use the alt key and number sequence to get accents - 0322 for é 0323 for è and so on.   There might be a keyboard setting where you can tell it whether you're speaking English, French or even Belgian French.   Mine has it.   Mind you, I can only type in English using an AZERTY now after all these years.

We have had loads of rain recently, so much that though the rust arrived to build my trellis panels and hen pen, we haven't been able to build them because the soil is too wet and soft.   Done loads of weeding and potting up of rescued treasure and the "nursery" is doing well.    Should dry up over the next few days and the return of summer is expected this weekend but not, so far, a heatwave.

I hope you've all survived the storms and high winds.

    Hi all

You cannot imagine how much I have missed the forum. Being in hospital, with no visitors and no one to chat to on here, has not been fun.
Was admitted 3 weeks today and am now 1 week post op. Hopefully they might let me out later today. Normally I would expect to be in longer, but with lots of COVID still around, hospitals are not a great place to be.
Won't be doing much gardening for a while, but be nice to see my own bed and get a bit of sleep.
Thank you so much for all the support, it has made a big difference.

I hope you can get home soon @punkdoc and still receive all the care you need to recover post-op.    Hugs to you and Mora too who, I'm sure, is mightily relieved.

We had a bit of drama here last Thursday.
    We went from this:

    To this :

The "branch" has cut right into the heart of the tree , leaving it unstable. The whole tree now has to come out.

The trouble is..... I'd just found the only place in the garden with "dappled shade", perfect for Hostas. When the tree is gone, it'll be "full sun", NOT perfect for Hostas.
The tree surgeon came round on Friday , but was admitted to hospital on Saturday with chest pains and was still there on Monday. I'm concerned how he is, but fear that calling might just look as if I'm only concerned about the tree.

Hello all! It's great to "see" you again. Plenty of wind and rain down here in the last week, so have been dodging the showers to get some gardening done. Need some sun now to make the tomatoes and courgettes grow.

Plant a sapling @Hostafan1?  One with attractive foliage and not a boring conifer?   It'll need watering all summer but so will the hostas without their shade.

Hi @Floralies.   It has certainly been interesting here with quite a lot of local trees down but not, thank goodness, chez nous.
