Just spoken to Mum for first time since I was admitted. Little Sis and Moira agreed that whilst she was ill, it was probably better not to tell her.
She seemed well on her way to recovery, but was very angry that no one had told her. I said that was a good sign, so we had a bit of a laugh. Great to talk to her.
I have slept a lot of today, but have also managed to stand out in the rain, lovely feeling.
Did anyone watch the Salisbury poisoning programmes? As you know I was slightly involved and am interested in what people thought.

I watched the Salisbury programme. I was a bit worried that the PPE in the hospital was quite basic - wouldn’t they have needed full RED protection? I was suprised, but pleased, that no healthcare workers were contaminated (if that is true). My critical care colleagues and I thought this scenario would worry us far more than COVID.

We watched it as well and thought it was a very well made programme. I used to know Salisbury quite well and found it weird and a bit upsetting. The hospital scenes made my blood run cold (and cry), gave an inkling of what the virus patients/NHS staff have been through lately. I did hope that anybody affected by the virus wasn't upset by the programme - was it too early to be shown?

    That’s a good point @Lizzie27 - maybe a bit ill-timed.

Just watching Beechgrove before bed. Night all.

Or maybe well-timed if it makes people pause and consider just what risks are taken every day by NHS staff - medical and other services - plus other essential services such as the police but also the ones we don't consider - dustme, street cleaners etc.   It strikes me that too many of these people are working in poor conditions with too few resources from staffing levels to specialist equipment to the quality of buildings and basic equipment.

Only when these people are properly valued will they begin to get the recognition, pay and conditions they deserve to do their jobs even better and with less personal cost and stress.

I’m really tired ... now my neck’s getting better I’m spending more time in the studio ... concentrating is always tiring 🥱

We watched the Salisbury programme too, thought it was very good. I thought of you, @punkdoc and wondered if you were one of the people portrayed in it.

We went to Tesco and a GC. I bought some marmalade as it's better than the supermarket sorts and an anemone Pink Kiss. I hope it does better than Dreaming Swan which has collapsed and died. That happened in France twice with Wild Swan. Has anyone else had trouble with the Swan anemones?

Just finished watching the Salisbury progs now 😢.  Very good at showing the human stories behind the headlines.  Terrifying things to have to deal with.  Still amazes me that the Russians can be so brazen and get away with it scot free.  The photos at the end really got me.

Can never keep any of the “swan” anemones alive here either @Busy-Lizzie .... but the normal ones thrive.  Shame coz I love those purple petals on the back of the flowers.
