Cool and grey here and I'm on a mission to get some rusty uprights in for rusty trellis so we can then hide the rest of the dry cement mix from the biblical rain we have forecast for tomorrow.  OH was booked to play golf - years of training in Belgium mean he's happy to play in the rain - but his sunnier French pals have all cried off.

@chicky - Wisley need to talk to Harlow Carr!  They had the stuff infesting their famous stream beds and have dealt with it - the hard way I think.  Any more photos?

@Dovefromabove and anyone else planning a day out, have a great time.  We're planning to try again on Friday pm after the dogs have been for their annual jabs and check up.  Got rained off last time so fingers crossed this time.  Just a walk in a nature reserve and no picnic tho cos there'll be no loos!

Sending positive waves to Seffield area for @punkdoc and Moira.   Great news about his mum.

Morning folks, better late than never. It's been raining! Not much!
We should have been going to Snowdonia today for a week's stay in a nice hotel but as the forecast is not that good, I don't feel as regretful as I might have done.
Best wishes to @Punkdoc (and Moira)
Sounds a good trip @Dovefromabove, hope it stays dry. I like the North Norfolk coast, we used to camp there when I was a sulky teenager!
Good luck with the project @Dordogne_Damsel.
Wisley looks super @Chicky, I haven't been for a very long time.
Hope @Liriodendron's builder can sort out that soggy lawn problem.
Anybody I've missed, apologies but enjoy the rest of the day.
I've got H....Wk to do so better get on with it.

Hi folks,  Grey and calm here today, not a breath of breeze.  Got outside early this morning and sorted out loads of stuff for the tip.  Rain was forecast so wanted to get it all bagged up before it became wet and soggy.  Stacked up loads of housebricks and hosed down the bin area and the drive.  Our friendly robin has been having a field day hoovering up all the worms etc that were revealed when we moved lots of bricks and wood. Have come in for a cuppa and a bacon butty before finishing off.
Hope your gussets dry soon @Fairygirl No one likes a damp gusset.
Enjoy your planned trips folks, I'm hoping to sort a day out with Bestie next week.
@Liriodendron and @D0rdogne_Damsel hope buiding work/repairs go well.
    Hugs @punkdoc

  • Hello everyone! My first poppy Rhoeas bloom arrived this morning so i'm in good mood! Two cardoons arriving this afternoon via courier! Wet, misty, calm and mild here in Kent. Feels like a Balinese wet season. Quite liking it and so is the lawn seed :)

    @Yviestevie - a moist gusset is even worse  ;)
Checked on my bees when the rain went off for a short while. They're all happy in their little home. Rain's bouncing off the roofs again though, so the compost bin moving will have to wait.
I could see from your earlier pix that it was going to be quite an imposing feature @D0rdogne_Damsel. Are you having big containers for plants or anything like that?  :)
You'll just have to get one of those 'she-wees' @Obelixx. Is that one of the most hideous inventions ever made?
HI @rebeccamM6CA_Gn6. Hope you get your plants safely delivered.

Are you having big containers for plants or anything like that?  " @Fairygirl - that is the plan, but I'll have to see how the budget goes, seem to be getting though an awful lot of very expensive paint and screws.....the wire cabling for the balustrade is more than twice the price here than in the UK but they can't guarantee a delivery date so I'm having to get it in France. There is 225 metres required.....all adds up.  :open_mouth:

It does indeed @D0rdogne_Damsel. Hope the budget will stretch just far enough  :)
