Very sad news

Such sad news, every pet has his or her own particular personality and his happy personality came over to the viewers in bucket loads.
Pets are so loyal, they always love you, never judge and the saying "the more I meet people makes me realise how much I love animals" rings true.
How lovely that people who liked him took the time to write some kind words.....

What's going on, second thread I visited tonight where people are kicking off! Is it a reaction to the continued/not continued/confused lockdown rules?

A forum is not a forum without different opinions.

I learn more from comments that are the total polar opposite to my own view on here all the time.

I noticed the news about Nigel has gone mainstream in the media now. My personal view is many of us would have wanted to have known and I'm certainly a little saddened by the news. It was fitting to first read about it here.

That others are not so worried, or think it is a fuss about nothing, well that is fine also.

    1. I don’t watch the programme.

    2. I wouldn’t have known who Nigel was unless somebody told me that he was a dog.

3.I don’t use social media so don’t know if such an announcement is unusual or not.

4.I have lost pets and been extremely upset by their death.

    5. People react differently to the death of animals. I had to go into an A level exam on the morning my dog died. The teacher asked why I was in pieces and when I replied that my little dog had died in agony the night before of a ruptured gut said “Oh, it’s only a dog for heavens sake.” I failed the exam.

Foxwales, as a newcomer, it might be an idea for you to take a drop of your own medicine and check before you post to take a taste of your own opinions. They seem pretty sour to me. I see that you had a snipe at Fairygirl on a thread about Rhododendrons some time ago. You are not endearing yourself to us.
Your teacher sounds like they were a sociopath, how awful.

A life lived with dogs is a rich one indeed, a gardeners life lived with dogs is even richer. RIP Nigel

There are lots of people who feel that too much TV time is given over to pets on what is supposed to be a gardening programme. But regardless of whether it's a good thing or not, Nigel has featured very heavily in the programme for a few years so there are plenty of people who 'know' him and will notice his absence so some sort of announcement had to be made, I think.

It's sad news, Monty will be devastated.

Altering the tone but just about staying relevant, a while ago I was in the vet’s waiting room reading a pet magazine and towards the back there was a kind of small ads memory column. One caught my eye: ‘Hitler and Mussolini- two little bundles of fluff. Sadly missed.’

Newcomer? How do you know? I don't wish to be endeared.  It's a forum for gardening and Gardner's world.
