Many of mine grow in full sun.
Try the yellow variegated, rather than the white variegated which can scorch. Just make sure you keep their feet moist .

Most are perfectly happy in full sun ... some like Stained Glass need the sun to bring out the yellow colouration ... but they do need plenty of water at their roots in that case.

These two pics are of the same H. Stained Glass plant ... the first taken today and the second in the middle of the long hot summer of 2018 ... it’s in a spot which gets full sun from early morning until about 2pm. You can see how the sunshine has brought out the yellow colouring.

I’ve seen H. Sum & Substance in a woodland setting and it’s a rather boring mid green colour ... planted in a sunny spot and it’s a striking acid yellowish green colour.

This is one I bought early this year, it had no top growth at the time. It's called 'bridal falls'. I didn't realise its leaves would be so big. It got rather bashed by the gales last couple of days.

That's some colouration change @Dovefromabove . The bed I'm thinking of , I'm planning a red, white and blue scheme,  so was wondering about blue hue hostas, as I don't know of any red.😁

Hadspen’s Blue is a good colour and not too large ... I posted a pic of mine on here earlier. Blue Angel is another good blue ... it’s one of the bigger ones.

Well I’ve now found a spot for another hosta 😁 I’d like a medium size one with wavy and / or long leaves as mine are all the standard oval or dinner plate type. It would be in dry shade most of the time - any suggestions would be gratefully accepted.

Since I mentioned it, here's Feather Boa in its tiny little pot.
