I'm in no way connected with ANY nursery , but the folk on the Hosta group I use on FB are RAVING about New Forest Hostas.
IMHO Bowdens have gone downhill in recent years since the original owner handed over control .
Look at Sue Proctor  , and Mickfield Hostas too.
Lots in Holland too are superb.

I so appreciate the lovely hosts pics that everyone is posting, what beauties you all have. I had a large raised border full of Hostas, after 7 years of snail and slug wars I rehomed the plants. We do miss them. We saw a great display at the Wisley show last year of small leaved Hostas on a table top, my mind is churning, I think you may have inspired me to give it a try, just have to use my powers of persuasion on Hubby! Keep posting those photos please.

I love hostas but mine kept getting eaten by slugs/snails too! Any tips for keeping them snail free?

What do you feed to hostas? Last year i totally neglected them as i moved house and so many other things. This year i will take care of these. So far i have given seaweed. Is liquid lawn feed or tomato feed any good for them?

I have one hosta, in amongst about 12 others, which has been attacked by something. It looks like slug damage but it is on an upper leaf with none of the other leaves on the same plant and no other hosta attacked. Has anyone got any ideas?

I suspect that was a bit of physical damage when that leaf was unfurling ... a small nick or split will get bigger as the leaf flattens out and grows.

If it offends you, you could remove the leaf.

Any fellow gardeners have any of the 'Mouse' variety in their garden ? Top of my list if Malvern had been on was splash out on a few of the Mouse ones, withdrawal symptoms now. P.s my hosta I posted was definitely Night before Xmas Hostafan, coming on a treat.

Today I discovered a brand new flowering hosta species: a hostallium  :D . Sometimes random chance is better than any plan!
