Thanks all for feedback on copper tape - especially newbie77 with the idea of putting more than one ring round. I will also try gravel thanks Dovefromabove.

I find the names to be useful in compilation of a wishlist of any particular variants that I may like to find and acquire.

@amancalledgeorge I really like Curlyfries. I thought I had enough hostas but this thread is giving me ideas about buying some more. 🙄

Curly Fries is so much fun...also love Feather Boa and Blue Mouse Ears @Poppypuss those miniature varieties add so much alongside the larger specimens. The perfect plant for a small pot.

I've always liked hostas,  but my last garden they never made it out of the ground.
In this garden I have two, as a test run, and they seem to be surviving .
    Dinner jacket

And an unknown one, which is being squeezed by the geranium and iris.

Now these are in my " woodland " area as I thought that's what they needed. Now I've seen @Hostafan1 very open bed , I have a new bed that looks similar,  and am wondering if they will do ok in a full sun position. 🤔
