Oh my, who can resist these beautiful plants! I’ll probably split my meagre 3 pots next year and try growing them in different spots as it seems this can affect the colour. I’m a sucker for the bluish ones but the yellow ones are striking, hang on though the variegated ones are so dazzling....oops there I go again, I think I really want them all!

Well I’ve just come back from our local nursery with an impulse purchase of Ripple Effect which should fit in to the available space. Common sense reigned and I realised Empress Wuu is just going to be too big.

@Poppypuss why let sense reign just go for it 🤪🤪 I've just caught up with the thread while having coffee break from decking who realised there were so many hosta fans. I've got some freebie ferns at home waiting to be planted and clearly they need some hostas to go with them, let's get shopping !!!!!

    Lucky you.
Up here in Scotland we are still locked down...Garden centres/nurseries closed.
    Very envious!

The nursery is really a local charity employing ‘troubled’ youngsters through gardening and fishing projects. They do a fabulous job and we are so lucky to have them. They’ve been open all lockdown but were deliveries only. Today is the first time I’ve been able to call in. Could have walked out with loads more but I am determined to get a planting list and stick to it...🙄

    How fantastic.
They learn on the job, while you can buy healthy plants at reasonable prices.

I started with Hostas for flower arranging. When we moved into the bungalow there is a huge one in the ground which when we first came used to get decimated by slugs, but in recent years they have left it alone. (Fingers crossed) It's lovely for large Church pedestals. Have several in pots the only one I know the name of is 'The night before Christmas'

Silver, I would very much recommend online nurseries such as Bowdens (no affiliation to them). The mixed pack of 20 that I bought cost me £70 and it was money well spent. It gave me an instant large variety and at a very cheap price.
