Just giving you all plenty of notice, so you have plenty of time to buy me something nice, that Sunday is my birthday.

If it is any compensation punkdoc have you seen the weather in Gairloch this week? They are expecting a month's worth of rain over the weekend.

Very considerate of you @punkdoc...... can’t go out shopping, so will explore my emergency presents cupboard.  Do you fancy a paint-your-own piggy bank?

Yes I have @steephill, and as you say it has reduced our disappointment at not being there, sitting on the deck of the Badachro Arms.

Paint your own piggy bank is something I have always wanted, @chicky

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
We had an unexpected shower at 4:30 am which woke me ... otherwise I had a good night 😊
I went out and had a wander round just to check the toms and beans that are hardening off on the terrace as I thought a slug or two might have been tempted out by the shower.

Coincidentally I’ve come up with your perfect birthday present @punkdoc  ... a generously sized ‘cook it yourself’ meal for two of escargots. I’ll package it and pop it in the first class post today. I’m sure you’ve got your own butter, garlic, parsley and a decent bottle of white wine. 😉

Good morning everybody.  Another beautiful morning here - and NO WIND!!  Hooray!  I'll give you a better recipe for snails other than parsley and garlic.  @Dovefromabove The French love them but I still think they're - tasteless.  Give me a dozen oysters any day!  Happy gardening!!

Not sure international delivery is up to getting your birthday present there by Sunday @punkdoc .....I'll have to drink it for you, shame it is such a good vintage.

@Dovefromabove, saw in the papers this morning Norfolk beaches are full of tourists, don't be going anywhere near them! I know journalists manipulate stories and photos are taken from 'the best' angle, but there certainly seems to be a lot of people out there that just don't 'get' what is going on in the world.

I am meeting the chap from the Tourist Board this morning to discuss how we could manage opening without endangering anyone but staying viable too - it won't be easy but staying safe and keeping everyone else safe is the most important thing - and I am certainly not in a hurry.

I have been watching Spain, they seem to be doing ok now....we'll see. Not wanting to be too depressing but it crossed my mind as they happily announced 'only' 48 deaths yesterday, that in the beginning we were worried and horrified that 20 or 30 people were dying, what difference a few weeks make to one's perspective.

Anyway, on a happier note I have to dig out my compost heaps today to make room for the new deck.....The older two will be fine, the latest one not so much.... :/ All progress.

Good day to all, hope it rains for those who want it and the sun shines elsewhere.  :)

I love escargot @tuikowhai34 ... all that flavour ... I find they taste mainly of ... chicken stock, butter, garlic and parsley 😋

I love oysters ... love them ... sadly Ive developed an allergy 😭
