Good stuff @Dovefromabove. Hope she and hubby are ok.Ā So sorry @punkdoc. The only positive thing I can think of is the fact that @Yviestevie's mum has done well despite her diagnosis. Sending some fairy dust...x Peony stillĀ in tight-ish bud here too @AuntyRach. Hopefully she will make an appearance before too long. They're beautiful, but so fleeting, and so vulnerable to the wet windy stuff.Ā Ā I might go and take a look now that it's been mentioned. It's a bit drier and milder now. Already warmer at 10am than it was all day yesterday, and not so windy. Got some bark yesterday courtesy of my 'lackey' so I shall possibly put some of that down before I have to collect her.Ā
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
@punkdoc, really sorry to hear that news, not what you needed at all. Best wishes to all.
I've just had a call from my GP, because I'd asked for another prescription inhaler. Turns out I've been using the wrong one incorrectly (every day instead occasionally) for breathlessness and persistent dry cough (definately not the virus) but as she prescribed it in the first place, I'm a trifle confused now. After more questioning she's now asked me to try an anti-histamine nasal spray instead of the pills I've been taking, so I'll see if that helps.Ā It was good of her to call I thought.
@Dovefromabove , thought of you when I read this article in my Benenden Health mag, "the human head weighs around 10-12lb. However when the neck bends forward the weight on the cervical spine can be as much as 60 lb. That's the equivalent of a sack of potatoes."Ā Ouch! perhaps we've both got the new syndrome of 'tech neck'.
Hi just caught up again been online and on phone 1/2 the day sorting very dull things like house insurance, internet contracts etc. Still need to tackle holiday co for our failed Japan trip now saying they will issue credit vouchers which we do not want. Sorry about your mum @punkdoc hope she pulls through ok. Great little gem @Dovefromabove your'e ahead of me though we do have lots of rocket leaves, radish, and we are still getting asparagus. The only drawback of things being early is they are over so much quickerĀ
@punkdoc, sorry to hear your news, best wishes and hugs.Ā
I was thinking today how important hugs are & yet normally we don't even think a It. My plumber came today ( of all people) and I was desperate to hug him. He's a nice chap and I've known him a while, but seriously...
Dykes... @Hostafan1, I couldn't help butĀ feel there was a joke in there somewhere. š
My friends have been sharing lawnmower jokes with me today to make me feel better, shouldn't laugh but they were funny.Ā 'I just saw a man slumped over a lawn mower crying his eyes out.
he's just going through a rough patch!'

Iām nursing a rash all up my arms (mainly right side) from holding a ladder against a conifer tree whilst OH chopped a branch off the top. It must be the oils in the leaves which get into the skin from little scratches - Iāve had the same from pruning a juniper.Ā Itās small fry in terms of problems but itās a tad uncomfortable even after an antihistamine tablet and cream.Ā
Might watch some some of the Chelsea programmes that are on instead of the actual Chelsea Flower Show now.Ā Take care all.Ā
