I haven't posted on Forkers before .... but I thought it might be useful to let you know that there is a substance called colophony which comes from the sap of coniferous trees. It is known to cause a contact allergy .... mine was diagnosed at an NHS Dermatology clinic.Ā Unfortunately, colophony is also in a number of everyday products .... from sticking plasters to mascara. Some useful info. here ...
Rather stressful day, home kept not answering the phone, and mums direct line seems to not be working. Several phone calls with my 2 sisters about what we should do in the event of mum deteriorating, not good calls to have and sadly we don't all agree, so more discussions to follow. Day ended well though, wine in the garden and everything started to feel a bit better.
I did wonder about the dykes comment, thought of a few replies, dismissed them all as inappropriate.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Sorry to hear that you had a tough day Punkdoc. Wine and garden combo always helps. Thank youĀ @Bee witched - I couldnāt find much info on line. I hope your allergy is not too troublesome, as it sounds like so many things could trigger a reaction.Ā
I have two old ladies (sisters age 78 and 88) coming for coffee today, they are regulars in the Tearoom and haven't been out since the beginning of March and asked if they could just come and walk around the garden and sit a a table and have a cup of coffee. I didn't have the heart to say no, I won't be charging them bless.Ā
I have started a task of lifting and splitting irises, hopefully get some better blooms next year. There is a lovely variety of colours, some ever so pretty. I had planned to make a note of which was which and put them back in some kind of splendid order of colour but scrapped that idea real quick. I am now going for a spontaneous melange.Ā
Hope you've not been too itchy @AuntyRach, @punkdoc , hugs, so tricky to get everyone to agree to when emotions are involved, good to see you've not lost your sense of humour though. Hope you had a good sleep @Dovefromabove and continue to improve. And hello @Bee witched nice to meet you. I wonder ifĀ Echinops have something similar, I always get a terrible rash if I even brush past them.Ā
Must dash, lots to do, not used to all these demands on my time, I had quite got used to pottering around the garden wily nily.Ā
Good day to everyone, hope @Obelixx drops by soon, it has been a long time without internet now.Ā
āCoffee. Garden. Coffee. Does a good morning need anything else?ā āBetsy CaƱas Garmon
Good morning @D0rdogne_Damsel and everyone else as you arrive š āļøĀ
I think a coffee in your garden sounds idyllic @D0rdogne_Damsel ... I might just sit under my pergola with one of OHāsĀ lovely āfrothy coffeesā .... and close my eyes for a few minutes and join you and your old ladies ... Iām sure thereās a quiet corner where no one would notice me šĀ

Morning all/afties Pat when you pop in That's nice @D0rdogne_Damsel. Hopefully - you'll have more than two very soonĀ Spontaneous melange is my phrase of the day nowĀ @punkdoc -the hardest of conversations to have. Keep as hopeful and positive as you can, and any dodgy jokes will be warmly received, as you know. I kept mine relatively above boardĀ Ā @Bee witched - I find pollen from conifers quite irritating, and although it's not normally a problem because of weather at that time of year, I've noticed it's affected me more this year, with the very dry April. Lots of people seem affected by buddlieas too, which I hadn't realised were a problem at all.Ā Is the neck better to day @Dovefromabove? I'm off out in a mo for a walk. Rain's off - it was very persistent yesterday, especially from about 5pm. Had to rescue the wee plants in trays before they got flooded. Everything's nice and fresh though.Ā Catch you al llater. Stay safe - and sensibleĀ
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Not too bad thanks @D0rdogne_Damsel ... I woke a few times having rolled onto my left shoulder ... but if I can stay on my back with an almost flat pillow itās good. š.Ā
Iāll stay safe in my garden ... Iāve got OH to do the clambering ... whether I can be sensible remains to be seen .... Ma was never convinced ... Iāll give it a try ... š¤Ŗšš¤£
