Hi @Pat E - that must be very welcome!
We have some forecast for later, and then through the week along with frosts. I'll need to warn fairylet when she's driving in the early hours tomorrow  :/

good morning folks (or should it be "forks", enjoyed gardeners world, wonder when it was filmed, all that rain, and can I please move in with Will Young!! Have emptied the dishwasher, done the washing, fed (pond) fish done doggy pickup , fed them, checked greenhouses are open, weeded the pots with the bamboos, hubby got hose out last night gave everything a good soaking, so they were easy to pull up, apart from a large dandilion growing bang in the middle of the clump, had a cold cuppa (thats usual)

I'm off for a walk before all the ar**holes appear. I really hope I don't see the couple I passed yesterday, with the tiny toddler wandering around in the middle of the farm road. Clearly they're completely unaware of the drivers who use it.... :/

I never watch G'sWorld now, but Will Young was on it last year, so presumably it was that episode @Nanny Beach

Just said the same to Hubby, lets get the dogs out, we go to a park, used to be the Duke of Devonshires country pile, a hundred years ago, its rather lovelly, a village near Eastbourne, woods, fields, huge pond, bluebells, little wooden bridge, over the road (kids play area and cafe not in use now) huge fields, tennis courts, bowling green, football pitch skate park with ramps, I reckon they will all be out because of the forcast today, me got the washing out, and some plants to go in before the heat!! Have a great day

Oh, yes Phillipa on last years show as well, designed by his Mum, yes I think people have got a bit complacent on the smaller roads, either that or using them a race tracks.  Last couple of days in the paper, people doing over 100mpr in 30 and 40 zones for Gods sake, they obviously think the yellow speed cameras are in lockdown!!We ve seen some idiots flying around on 2 wheels (in a car that is!!)

Gosh @Nanny Beach you are a busy person! 😱😁
Charlie's lettuces are doing very well thank you @Fairygirl. He lost 3 in one night a week or so ago, battered by the heavy rain and possibly a slug/slugs but he's took it well, with 1200 seedlings still growing in the g/h suppose it wasn't the end of the world. 😅 He worried about his haricot vert not growing though, it's been 5 days and no sign of them. He's only got 3 of those. 😲

Beans do sometimes take their own time. I tend to start a load in root trainers and there's a pretty wide variation in germination times for different varieties growing side by side. Fingers crossed for Charlie's beans - I'd give them another week yet.

The pied wagtail that's nesting by the front door has got 4 or 5 babies doing well as far as I can see. I'm a bit worried about what will happen when they fledge as they are so close to where we (and the dogs) go in and out - just have to hope they are careful. The blackbird by the back door managed to raise just one baby who's fledged and gone and there's now a wren making use of that space. The swallows are back in numbers.

I was interested to read that ash dieback may not be as bad as previously feared. Our ash trees have been terribly late coming in to leaf the last 3 years but this year around half have come into leaf at the same time as the oaks - as if they've been poorly but are now feeling better. I wonder.... @Dovefromabove you'll know this; is there a third line to the rhyme? Something like "when the ash and oak are out together, then we'll have all sorts of weather"?  :)

Hope you're all keeping well and staying safe. The garden is calling - see you later  B)

    Morning all.
I gave in last night and went to bed at 9pm and woke this morning at 8.12. Now THAT'S what I call a good night.
I've avoided the covid thread too. Paranoia, conspiracy theory and sundry nut jobs.

Good morning again everyone ... I went back to sleep and have only just woken ... OH slept late too ... were just having our ☕️ ☕️
ive never hear a country person use a third line of the rhyme @raisingirl, although I have read various ones in children’s books of rhymes ... I suspect they may have been added by the compiler.  It is good news about the ashes... the remaining large one in our garden seems healthy ... 🤞

    Morning all.
Looks like being another warm and sunny day.

@Fairygirl, the GWs are new episodes filmed by cameras that have been set up in Monty's garden and he manages them himself, but they show bits from previous GWs as well so that's how Will Young was on it. They also show clips of gardens sent by viewers. Last night's must have been filmed last week. We had some rain then.
