The Battle of Britain Flight assembles over Sole Bay at Southwold and flies along the R. Blyth and heads straight for the Mall for Buckingham Palace flypasts. Pa was always there to watch and salute 😊

We live close to the reservoir where the bouncing bombs were first tested, so often see the Lancasters fly over on memorial days.

Just back in after our street VE Day socially distanced party which was greatly enjoyed by all. I even forgave the neighbours's dog which stole my slice of cake. No old fighting aircraft overhead for once,  just a buzzard working the afternoon thermals. I suspect there may be a lockdown release street party in due course when we are allowed.

Today has been lovely, beautiful weather and I have not lifted a finger, other than to point out what I wanted Moira to do in the garden.
I have just read, Spring by Ali Smith and watched the birds.

I’ve been sitting lots too - but no pointing ...Mr C doesn’t take kindly to instructions 😜.  Counting our blessings, as we both agreed we can’t think of a nicer spot to be locked in 😇.  Done lots of sewing, and lots of sitting and staring.  Felt very good 👍🏻

    Evening all.

Back from work, just having a drink in the garden before supper. I saw a few front garden parties, bunting and flags on my drive home.

I hope everyone has enjoyed some sun today.

I made the mistake of looking at that Covid thread, having steered clear a while ago.
    I'm biting my tongue...very hard....
    I knew I shouldn't have looked  :/

How is your dad @chicky? I meant to ask you earlier.
I've been doing little bits and bobs outside, enjoying the fact that it was cooler. All the black clouds have kept hold of their rain. I saw  a little thrush this morning, flying off with  a fully filled beakful for her nest  :)
Nice to sit and stare. Glad some of you have been doing that.  :)

I'm now watching the Cellists prog on BBC4. I was struck again by how much the fabulous, and much missed J. du Pre looked like Joni as a young woman.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Dad’s doing well thanks @Fairygirl.  Immunotherapy seems to be keeping the tumours at bay, and he’s got away with no side effects (very lucky).  We see him every Saturday night on the family zoom get together.  But the first thing I will do when restrictions are lifted is go down and sit on his patio, whilst he stays in his conservatory.
