Sorry to hear that you feel rotton today @punkdoc  I think we are all having down days at the moment.  Hubby has been feeling miserable and cold today and he's normally a cheerful soul.  Hope you feel better soon.

Sorry you aren't feeling well @punkdoc

I watered the front and side lawns with fertiliser. OH had just mowed the back lawn so I haven't done that yet. Then I split and re-planted an alchemilla mollis in its old place and a new place.

Went for a walk this afternoon.

Gardening tools of the day were a sledgehammer and lump hammer for knocking in metposts and tinsnips for chicken wire fencing. The last week it had been a pickaxe as I broke ground to enlarge the veg patch prior to enclosing it in my new Fort Knox. I now have about a cubic metre of couch grass infested turf piled up waiting to be dealt with. The bonfire pile has a deep topping of raspberry and bramble roots layered with couch grass roots.
The roe deer popped by to inspect my handiwork but hopefully she won't be getting any more treats as the new fencing is 6 feet high now.  I could tell my neighbours that I am recreating a PoW camp in time for VE Day but the sad truth is it is the only way I can grow fruit and veg. A 30X2 metre roll of chicken wire isn't the easist thing to handle on your own - must have looked like the weirdest epsiode of Strictly ever as I tried to unroll it round the posts. Bruises and scratches now treated with antiseptic with just one splinter left to extract.

Sounds painful @steephill I hope Mrs Deer knows when she's beaten! I've had the same problem. The fence OH made around the veg garden was a success.

I feel your pain @steephill .....the lengths we go to to thwart the bambis 😜😳🦌.  Glad you kept the Strictly spirit alive 😂

We’re just back from our walk - lovely evening.

Thinking of you @punkdoc and hoping you feel better soon.  We’ve all had down days .....mine are normally when its raining.  Thank goodness there have not been too many of those since 23rd March ☔️.

    Evening all,

Quick pop in before bed. I've been racing against time to get the kitchen fully prepared for the plasterer tomorrow. He said he could do the prep but at 185€ a day I thought I would do as much as possible of the unskilled stuff myself. Anyway, it's pretty near ready for him to start, although there were a couple of very awkward high spots I just couldn't stretch to - not on my own on a ladder anyway not worth the risk.

    Good news @AuntyRach:)
Sorry you're feeling the pressure @punkdoc, such a difficult time for so many.

Good to hear/read all the other chatter, I am happy I managed to catch up. Sunny tomorrow so hopefully back in the garden, I need to leave the plasterer to work alone so good excuse not to go inside.  :)

    Good night all. :)

Well done @AuntyRach and team 💙

And well done to the rest of us ... we’re all coping with the hitherto unthought of ... each in our own way and propped up by each other. Sleep tight everyone ((hugs)) 🛌

Hi to everyone. Best wishes to Punkdoc. Hope you’re feeling better today (tomorrow for you).
We have a day of power off today for work somewhere along the line. Another supposed to happen on Thursday.
