Yes in relation to the length of our short human lives, things can seem to be turning upside down. I'm confident that spreading appreciation of the wonder of the natural world, we can do our bit. I cannot tell my grandchildren often enough the joy one gets when a seed germinates.
I first germinated seeds about half a century ago and I still rejoice at germination.
@Hostafan1 My mother was English and my father a Scot, they emigrated to Australia with 3 children and I was born in Australia the following year. They absolutely loved trees and green, interesting gardens, while our Australian neighbours complained of the leaves and "mess". They gave me that love. Unfortunately they had no appreciation for Australian plant life, finding it dry, dusty, straggly and having inconspicuous flowers. As an adult, I taught myself about the subtle beauty, incredible strangeness and fit for purpose attributes of our natives. Germinating natives is an amazing learning process and nothing is more thrilling than to germinate difficult seeds.
