Maybe they'll take them and think they can get a few meals out of them @Hostafan1 ...

That dreadful, howling, penetrating north easterly wind has finally dropped so it's much more pleasant here but still cold.   Have decided we need a bit of a tidy and clean today in the hope it will warm up enough to make gardening better tomorrow, after my weekly SM raid.

Rasta doggy is 13 today.   Being a dog she doesn't care but she and Bonzo can have a marrow bone later.

Meanwhile, all the hoomans missing birthday and anniversary celebrations need to turn their imagination to how to celebrate when this is all over and, in the meantime, we all need to be patient and kind and keep an eye out for anyone in difficulties.   We have survived worse than this in our past.  It is heartening to see how many are helping others and volunteering - far more in number than the creeps and idiots and downright stupid still not observing lockdown or taking out their frustrations and limitations on others.

Chicky  the (was) 24 hour A##a is our 'corner shop' . There have been queues to get in as they are limiting the number of people in at any one time, but they are moving fairly quickly.  They look longer than they actually are because of the 2 metre distance.

Oh don't worry @obelixx, none of my family members with birthdays were the ones to raise the issue ... we're the ones using a bit of lateral thinking and creativity to find a way to mark the occasions without breaking 'lock down'.

Passed on by a foodie friend:

"I went to the supermarket this morning and watched a man purchase a pinata, some paella and a sombrero................. I thought to myself Hispanic buying."

C'mon - that's the rabbit from Monty Python's Holy Grail...the one with the 'big scary teeth' (you have to say that whilst making a shape of a claw with your first three fingers)

    Couldn't agree more @Obelixx
I posted on the old thread by mistake. I hope I didn't offend anyone - I didn't mean to.
A combo of things caught me unawares.
I may even make a cake later. It'll be with oil instead of butter. Should have got ex to get some, but it's fine. I was grateful to him for getting us a few things, and he's said he'll get us more if needed.  The value of having a civilised divorce  :)
Nice one @Dovefromabove . I may forward that one  :D
If the b***ers didn't take off so quickly @steveTu , they'd make a good dinner. I was lucky to get within 50 yards of him....
Mind you - if I see that pigeon with the limp again....

    I've been busy ...

We'll have one each for supper  ... that leaves two for the freezer ... unless anyone can make me a better offer 😁

And a few Suffolk Rusks to have with cheese for later on ...

Hello everyone, and here's hoping the new month is happier than the last.  :)

I've just come in from the garden for a cuppa, wondering if it's worth hanging out the washing again... we've had a few showers today.  Can't complain though, the last week has been lovely.

I'm trying to dig over for a second time, the patch of wet clayey stuff behind the shed, compacted by a digger in the rain, then stamped all over by the insulating men after I'd given it a first dig... it's got lumps of concrete buried in it, but I think it could make a good wild flower meadow.  Not a lot of topsoil.

Your baking looks yummy, @Dovefromabove.  I'm sure you've told us before, but what's a Suffolk rusk?

Glad you've got supplies, @Fairygirl.  Must be a relief...

Hope @chicky isn't still stuck in the supermarket queue   :|
