Evening all,  Had a horrible evening, our cooker blew up and we are trying to source a new one which is difficult with all the restrictions.  We thought that was bad enough but then it became insignificant when we had a call from Firstborn to say that her Mother in law had been told that her cancer had returned and that there was nothing more they could do.  She has just finished a year of ops, chemo and radiation therapy (for the third time).  They are desperate to take the boys to see her but with the current situation it doesn't seem possible.  The consultant has said that it is extremely aggresive this time so I don't know how long she will have.  The thought that she might not see her sons and grandchildren again is just terrible.

Oh @Yviestevie, that's terrible news!  How far away does MIL live? I think if it were me, I'd just do it and say you were taking her food supplies. The goodbyes will be awfully sad though, could you and the children cope? How old are they? Awful situation to be in, my sympathies to you all.
P.S We just got a new tumble dryer a week ago thro AO, who I think are still delivering.

    Evening.

So sorry to hear your family news @Yviestevie. I hope that your daughter’s Mum-in-law has access to the amazing cancer and hospice services, which I know will support her to be as comfortable as possible through her illness.

    Take care one and all.

I am so sorry @Yviestevie.  That is such bad luck for your fellow MIL and the family and so difficult for all concerned.   Hugs.   Hope you can find a suitable cooker soon.  Just what you need at the mo.

@Yviestevie, what dreadful news, I'm so sorry. Any chance of Facetime or Skype?
I hope there is somewhere you can order a cooker from online.

The problem is they live in the lake district so it's difficult to say you were just taking some shopping.  I've got a cooker but they can't deliver until 16th April, we can still use the gas hobb so we'll manage, it's nothing in the scheme of things. Thanks for all your kind comments.

Thanks @punkdoc.  How are you feeling?  Have you been in the garden today?

@Songbird-1 they do facetime but it's just not the same as being able to give them a hug.  I just can't imagine how she must feel.
