Morning all/afties Pat. Hope it goes well today - you're probably already away.... @D0rdogne_Damsel- as long as it's just the trays that are broken and batteredĀ I saw the moon early on yesterday - around teatime, but it was too cloudy when I went to bed. It was just a bright light with dark clouds scudding in front. I like that effect though. Cloudy too this morning, but it's bright. Wind has dropped here too @Hostafan1. I'll hopefully get the front gate painted before we get rain tomorrow/Friday. Your arbour is very pretty @Busy-Lizzie. Nice to get the weather to do these things isn't it? Did anyone see the interview with the wonderfully named Hylton Murray Philipson on the breakfast news? He's the chap who left hospital, after a battle with the virus,Ā with all the nursing staff giving him a heroic 'guard of honour' and applauding him as he left the ward. He deserves it just for his name. Magnificent!Ā Ā

Morning all. Thank you, Dove and Chicky. The wood the arbour is made from is quite rough but it looks smarter now. Sky is mostly blue. The pheasants and squirrels are busy, must be mating season, lots of rushing about and pheasant squawking. I hope some of the plants I ordered arrive, I had 2 emails to say they are on their way.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
You'll be glad it's over @Pat E. It's a similar colour to the one I use on my screen and bench @Busy-Lizzie. It works well with all sorts of planting tooĀ

Morning all afternoon PatĀ Thanks Chicky and Yvie for embroidery Ā thread advice. Much appreciated! Lovely weather here, warm and sunny. The moon wasn't pink at all here! Coffee time and plan the day!Ā
I don't think it was pink as such @WonkyWomble - from what I can gather,Ā it's something to do with the time of year and plants flowering or summat. I've no idea really....

@Pat E Hiya from Adelaide.Ā Glad to hear your clinic visits went ok.Ā IĀ just did a "prioty shop" (home delivery) for disabled/immune compromised/elderly with Woolworths.Ā No toilet paper so will have to venture out to find some.Ā This pm I planted some forget-me-knots.Ā They so cheer me up, with their happy little yellow faces under the purple looking up at me. I'm looking for stepping stone molds at the moment.Ā This was to be part of garden decoration projects with 2 of my grandchildren, but not to be at the moment.Ā I will send them $ and plans to their mum's so they can still be involved.Ā

Just the name, like Blue moon, or Spring tides, nothing to doĀ with being Blue, or in Spring.Ā
Morning @WonkyWomble ... apparently itās not meant to be pink ... thatās just a name given to it by Native Americans because some pink flowers bloom in the spring. I wonder whether Europeans have the big moon in spring a particular name ... after all most of our spring flowers are yellow š¼Ā Weve been sitting in bed listening to a songthrush then a large heron landed on the roof opposite and looked into their garden to see if theyāve restocked the fishpond he emptied at least seven or eight years ago ... they have, with compost and heather šĀ
Gardening in Central NorfolkĀ on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
@epsilonsage- a good way of doing some concrete stones is to use the old Geoff Hamilton method. Dig a little shallow hole in the ground, line with plastic,Ā fill to the desired depth, and smooth the top. The grandchildren can do hand prints etc if you want, or add seashells or that kind of thingĀ Best for them to wear little plastic gloves though if they're touching concrete.Ā
