@DorsetUK I love music, particularly what we call here "folk music " meaning Celtic but for me much broader than that.Ā Also love political folk ie Bob Dylan Joan Baez; experimental ie Laurie Anderson; Eno, Sky; Poetic ie Leonard Cohen. (Whoops, giving away my generation lol). IĀ love Gregorian Chants.Ā My regret is that I cannot sing, but I do beleive all humans are born with a minimum of 2 languages and I'm not sure why this isn't tacknowleded as a matter of fact.
Same generation as most of us from the sounds of things @epsilonsage .... although on here it's well known that 'we're all 27' ... old enough to be grown up and not so old that we're too sensibleĀ I went to the same art school as Brian Eno and knew his brother Roger for a while.Ā I lived in their neck of the woods for many years, my son still does ... and he works in the music and entertainment world ... not much work around at the momentĀ
Gardening in Central NorfolkĀ on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
@Lizzie27 thanks for the welcome šĀ we only had 1 tram then, from the CBD to Glenelg beach.Ā You might be amused at the current debacle around having lines in the city.Ā Needless to say they couldn't be used due to technical stuffups, and they couldn't work out how to fix it!Ā Millions of dollars later, they are working properly (I think) lol!
That's the one @chicky.Ā Thanks.Ā Reminded me of the Manchester bees.
Love trams.Ā They have some very good ones in Manchester and Bordeaux.Ā As a child I enjoyed trolley buses in newcastle when we went up to see the GPs.
Sorry about your mum @punkdoc but letters really will help.Ā Rally the rellies.
I have sown spring onions, Florence fennel, leeks, beetroot and some Bishop's children this morning and sorted out other seeds. Just had lunch so, once I've had my coffee, it'll be off to paint upstairs for the pm.
Hi Epsilonsage. Iām late getting on today. Ā Too much watching ABC TV all day trying to keep up with the virus news plus being locked up at home.
i live on the Monaro, near Cooma.Hubby and I have a bush block and wander around the place without having to worry about meeting anyone. Very little rain here this last year either.Ā
@punkdoc. Makes it so much harder if staff aren't 'helpful'. In their defence, I would say - their jobs must be even harder than usualĀ just now. Hope you find a good care home for MIL. Came in for some lunch. Timed it well as the rain came on. Eurythmics on the radio just now too - #Here comes the rain again.... Good timing with that tooĀ Lovely when the wind drops. Not anywhere near the temps way south, but perfect for me. I washed the cars. Young 'un owes me nowĀ Considering the amount of crap that Peg-leg Pete the Pigeon drops, they weren't too bad.Ā I feel a bit sorry for him. He's Billy no mates just now, and doesn't mind me tootling around while he gets some grub. I must be getting soft in my old age...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Hi Folks, welcome @michael.waring and @epsilonsage .Ā Never been to Oz but my Niece lives there, she's a theatre nurse near Perth so I suspect she's really busy at the moment along with her husband who is a research scientist.
Been out to the SM today to get a few essentials and to pick up some stuff for mum.Ā Took it to the home and had a chat with one of the staff at the door (obviously respecting the 2m distance rule).Ā She said at the moment they had some staff self isolating so those on duty were very tired but so far no-one is ill, so hopefully it will stay that way.Ā Someone from social services called me to check if I was happy with the way the home was handling the current situation.Ā Thought that was good practice.Ā Ā
Managed to get everything we needed at SM and the roads were fairly quiet.Ā Mind you I did notice groups of smokers standing in the street by our local hospital and none of them were observing the 2 metre rule and some of them were staff!!!
Just changed back into my gardening clobber and having a cuppa before going to do a bit.Ā Stay safe everyone.
