Good morning Forkers and hello Michael and Epsilonsage.  Lots of greenhouse chat on other threads and yes, we have a regular Ozzie @Pat E.

It is cool, grey and wet here so I shall probably go and do some painting after lunch.  Too late to start on a whole coat now as the cutting in on the last wall will take ages.  That sounds like a mammoth sort and clean you did @Liriodendron.  Clear conscience for gardening then.

Glad you enjoyed your birthday @WonkyWomble.   Yes @Fairygirl, Stanley Baxter indeed.  Why no mention of toe rags?  Not that I was paying attention cos she was on, sotto voce, while Possum asked me about cleaning ovens.

@Chicky - well done with the fencing.   You should have asked to borrow OH's fence post hole digging dooberry.   @Punkdoc - love the cartoon.  How's you mum?  Have you written to her?  @AuntyRach - go easy with those sore muscles.  Maybe sow some seeds instead?

@Dovefromabove - hot cross bun question.  No strong white flour here but I do have pasta/pizza flour 00.  Would that be OK maybe half and half with wholemeal?  I have fresh yeast!!

Have a good day all, whatever the weather and whatever you're doing be it work, play or displacement activity to get you through.

@obelixx we have a manual digging doobery *.....but it was still back breaking work 😅

    * a sort of double spade, earth grabbing contraption *
  • Hello Ckicky.  I live in Adelaide South Australia.  We used to be famous for having a "Mediterranean" climate", but there's little rain now in winter and days on end over 40 degrees in summer.  Even Australian plants burn after 3 days over 45 degrees.  Luckily I've always been eco-conscious,  and try to apply a mix of commonsense, experience and knowledge to keep growing going!

Welcome @epsilonsage . @Pat E will hopefully be able to compare some notes with you  ;)
    I like a doobery @chicky
    Couldn't eat a whole one...
I just use my trusty digging/border spade for all my post holes. It's seen me through many a difficult job  :)
@Obelixx- I think it would have been difficult for Madge to be too vocal about all the a***holes.
Perhaps she got it off her chest to Phil later. I can only imagine... :D
I think I have a little 'matched pair' of blackies. One male visiting the ground feeder regularly, and one female. She's seen off all the pretenders to the crown, the little minx.  ;)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

@Obelixx ... not sure about the '00' flour for HCBs ... my understanding is that '00' gives a crisper crust so not necessarily what you want ... think I'd go half and half wholemeal and plain white ... I've done that before and it was ok.

Don't have plain white @Dovefromabove.   Never do.

    Hope the neck’s feeling better @AuntyRach 😀

@epsilonsage our oldest daughter spent a year studying in Adelaide in 2018.....she loved it.  We visited a couple of times and loved it too.  Henley beach is one of my “happy places” in the world .....still have it as my screen saver on my laptop .....

Love Adelaide central market and the bees on that building.  Was there in 2000 so pre-digital.......
