Silver linings ... keeping positive

OH’s hours have been cut ... we’ve cancelled our holiday ... but are we downcast?  
No we are not ... I’m one of those (annoying) Pollyanna-ish people and can find a silver lining to almost anything. 

We are not ‘on lockdown’ or ‘self isolating’ .... we’ve decided to regard this as Gardening Leave 😊 (albeit unpaid) and OH will be home so we can do much more gardening together 😃 

Can we find other snippets of positivity ...

    Our grandson is due this week.
    Despite the biblical levels of rain, the garden isn't looking too bad and I'm still on holiday from work, ( apart from last Sunday and this one  ).

    I have lots of seeds germinating, and still after all these years, I doubt it will happen, and when it does, am filled with wonderment.

    My fiancé has no work and is self employed, but If we tighten our belts I think we will be ok, he has time to do lots of little jobs and instead of working away all week he is at home every night. 
    My job is very busy ( I work in a pharmacy) but it’s good to feel I am helping people and making them less afraid. 
    My son has had the virus but it only lasted 4 days and he is nearly recovered. 
    Spring is nearly here and gardening is a relatively cheap hobby! 
    Just think how wonderful it will be when all this is over!

    Totally agree! After about 40 years of seed sowing, I still rejoice at the sight of germination.

    I've cancelled a "consulation" at the dental hospital in Exeter due for next month. 
    I told them I'm not in pain and that they have enough on their plates at the hospital and thanked her and her colleagues and wished them all the best. 
    She thanked me and sounded genuinely touched.

    Time to try out all sorts of new stuff.  Chicklet announced yesterday that she’s going to try and learn some Italian (lots of online options available).  I have resurrected cross-stitch that is two decades old.  There’s lots of online fitness videos (tip I heard was go for the old ones - Cindy Crawford and Mr Motivator don’t need any more specialist equipment than a dining room chair and a bottle of water).  Rope people into a few old fashioned board games (you can play scrabble with friends online ..... or a variant called words with friends).  Or start exchanging old fashioned hand written letters with friends to keep in touch - makes the postman arriving just that bit more exciting.

    And the garden borders are going to be weeded so much they will look like Kew Gardens 😀

    I've got my first 14 dumpy sacks being filled up with poo and woodchip. No chance of adding grass clippings yet.
