Still no flowers opening for me in the garden yet!! Several roses have buds close but they have been like that for over a week and with it getting colder from tonight it will probably be another week at least yet! Means my first flower likely to be later than last year when it was 16th may. all roses all looking very good tho so the first flush will be brilliant when temps get higher again!!
Look at this from Facebook! Chap noticed that his Jude the Obscure planted a few weeks ago had different coloured growth coming from one set of canes. Was asking what people thought about it, was it another type of rose.
My close up with scribbles that that I sent back to him.
Does indeed look like the offending cane is coming from below the graft.
Not only that but the sucker was the one they attached the name tag to!!
The first lupin with 'Eyes for You' full of buds (which are, interestingly, light yellow/cream with a red stripe, not what I would expect, but apparently correct for this rose).
Agree with Fire, I don't know your rose @owd potter but it is stunning. I love yellow roses.
Thanks for sharing your Lady Waterlow @pitter-patter, it looks like it is going to be a sweet rose.
Your Burgundy Ice looks great with the alliums, @Nollie. This will be the second summer for mine. I like the colour but I'm not overwhelmed with the actual bush/manner of growth of mine, I don't find it very pleasing. Maybe it needs another few years.
Carried out a bud audit yesterday and it looks like my first flower will be Celebration2000. I bought that rose on a whim from DA who only have one photo of it but I'm quite fond of it. Very small flowers, a warm sort of yellow.
@edhelka Lovely lupin. I wanted to grow some from seed this year, but forgot when I did my seed packet shop and by the time I remembered it was too late! Will do that next year
Here are some of mine Self seeded rosa Glauca potted up and on over 3 years. I think it's ready for the ground now.The leaves, maroon on the underside, are as pretty as the flowers

Arthur Bell Couldn't get ID on this one. I think it's name has something to do with foreign royalty loads of buds this year Dublin Bay. Pillar rose. pita trying to train it on a pergola Pink climber Deep (or dark) secret . Wasn't happy in partial shade so I'm trying it in full sun but I suspect it wants to be in the ground
Fighting Temeraire not far off. This flower is at its most attractive in the run up to opening fully. The flowers once open last only a day or two looking their best.

Don't know what rose this is, one inherited with the house, quite a strong sweet citrus scent?

Lots of buds on both roses this year.
