Does anyone else think roses look better when the clouds roll in. It's heavily overcast, damp and cool in this part of the world today, but the garden is looking great. But the rain does mean resorting to extreme measures at times. The flower under the plastic bag is a peony, the first to open, so I placed it under cover to protect it from overnight rain which helps to preserve it beauty for longer.
The paler colours stand out much more in this light, but I love sunlight on the hot colours. Good idea to protect the peony, the first ones are too precious to lose.
Has anyone ever resorted to using a tree stake with straps to keep a Bush rose from flopping? This rose was heavily cut pack and has two large ringed supports in. It still flops to the flooor
