@Katsa I’ve had roses in both sizes you quoted.. and both do very well. As the old adage goes bigger is better. The price difference should be negligible between those two sizes, i would definitely recommend the 47x40 pot. It should be manageable, as in you can still move the pot about fairly easily once the rose is in. I find that the tapered ones are good for when you have to repot the rose as you can get your hands in more easily compared to the ones with straight sides.

I like Elho pots.. good quality and slick modern look. It is in the mid range price as far as plastic pots go so still affordable. Good value for money :)

Thanks @celcius_kkw. What brands are of a higher/lower price points for plastic pots? I'm now curious...

Where did you get Kiss me Kate from @poppyfield64? Reckon it'd grow up an obelisk or is it too much of a climber?

I'll ask here first, does anyone know what this spider like creature is?
I would ask on the wildlife / insect specific threads.

Can I ask, when the cluster of flowers on a stem have finished flowering on my Desdemona, how far do I cut the stem back. Do I just cut the flower heads off or can I cut it further down the stem.

@Katsa I got it from the Cornish Rose Co who are just 8 miles away from me.  It is described as a short climber.  I'm going to try her up the side of my arbour and see how she does.  I don't think she is very vigorous so an obelisk may be fine.  Online one site said 8ft and another said 10ft.
