I did a January day course a couple of years ago on rose pruning at Hestercombe nr Taunton. It was very interesting and we did hands on practical stuff.
Just picked one bloom of Winchester Cathedral, one of Margaret Merril and one of Royal William for the house. Thought I'd better save them from the heavy rain.
@Lizzie27 ...lovely to see during such gloomy days at the moment.. I was just going to ask what the pink ones were... I bet your Margaret Merrill smells nice.. ?..
I am crazy enough to have a spreadsheet with my roses... so making a screenshot So that's 20 roses, 18 varieties, 16 new to me. Most looking forward to (1st year/new roses): Narrow Water, Clg. Mrs. Herbert Stevens Most looking forward to (2nd year roses): Crépuscule, Reine des Violettes, Lavender Dream Garden area I am most looking forward to: New obelisk there with La Belle Rouge, new clematis planted with it (Samaritan Jo), Lavender Dream will get bigger, some plants moved + some new perennials.
