@Marlorena The grey edging is a metal one, similar to everedge. Not something that I particularly like, but it was quick to install and quite practical. I moved into this garden at the beginning of the year and it was all lawn, apart from some borders on the sides. Removed all the lawn and put trellis and arches during lockdown. At the back the edging is concrete (not poured in situ, but in a mould), as seen in the photo. I’ve designed the paving stones as well.
In other places I’ve used stones that I’ve dug out from the garden to create an informal edge.
@pitter-patter ...oh gosh I'm so terribly impressed with your handiwork and the great job you've done in your garden this year.. thanks for letting me know about it.. and lovely Heuchera !..
.. @edhelka ... wow, look at those from TW.. wonderful... and you can't get much pricklier than that..
TW roses do seem fabulous, shame they don’t ship here.
@Marlorena it was you banging on about it that inspired me to try Mme. Antoine Mari, my first tea, that and the fab photos you posted, I hope mine grows up to be like yours 😊 Lots of firsts for me this year now I’m dipping my toes into old roses. Loubert have some interesting classes I’ve never heard of, there were so many I was tempted to try.
@pitter-patter your garden is beautiful, so imaginative and interesting!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Wanted to thank you for your book recommendations a while ago, Marlorena! I got the Graham Stuart Thomas rose book for a fiver (cheap because without a dust jacket) and the Philips and Rix one, and hope to get the others you recommended as time goes on. The GST is beautifully written!
Going to need a separate bookcase just for gardening books though soon.
Just waiting for Trevor White and the one I ordered last week from C&K now. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of a couple of cheapos from J Parker (tacked onto a summer order I made).
Where did you get Russell Pritchard, @Mr. Vine Eye? I had intended to get that inter alia from Ballyrobert, but I think they are now closed till spring.
Secret Gardening Club, but it was the last one! I had been looking every so often waiting for it to come back.

Lady of Shalott snipped and brought inside.
