I don't know how to get a gritty mix for cuttings? Is John Inness no 1 good?
I want to try some Munstead wood, Gabriel oak and teasing Georgia cuttings. Really like flower colour and form of Teasing Georgia but it is such a huge thing. Hoping an own root will be more manageable.
Thank @Tack LdaV doesn't have the biggest blooms but at least they last. I love your Odyssey....those stamens really do stand out. Do the blooms last very long? I'm going to ignore your comment about filthy foliage on Easy Does It and hope I don't have the same problem.
I didn't know you had a bee hive. I have one too but no bees at the moment. I had hoped to lure some in but no success with that method.
@newbie77 for cuttings I'm using 50/50 seedling/cutting compost or MPC and horticultural grit.
Last few, didn't realise how many white and pale Roses I had. Must take a leaf out of Nollies and Edhelka's book and try some dark ones. Last two are Royal William on obelisk (which is a dark red) and Happy Birthday. Rainingng hard and windy today so do n't think these will last.
Evening all, Does anyone grow Falstaff, or alternatively, Tuscan superb? I'm looking for an alternative deep red rose for a single specimen spot, was going to plant Munstead Wood, but DA are sold out... Thoughts or opinions on these roses. Cheers Owd
Have you tried searching for other suppliers @owd potter ? I can't vouch for these specifically but Style Roses amongst others in UK and abroad seem to have the bare root and the excellent C&K Jones seems to have it still potted.
