    @Victoria Sponge Interesting roses there. Will particularly enjoy seeing Leda, Perle d'Or and Mousseline develop. I feel I have a moss rose in my future, please share.

    @celcius_kkw I would enjoy growing some bigger old roses, the ones that bloom only once and are too big to be justified in a small garden. Albas, bigger gallicas, damasks like Ispahan... so many opportunities :) And some climbers because you don't enjoy them on a balcony. I think most of these roses should be still reasonably well movable after 2-3 years.

    @Tack, I am so glad you got the rose you wanted.

    @Victoria Sponge, I will enjoy seeing photos of your new roses next year. My lady emma from TCL looked quite small and thin. I am hoping it will recover.

    It had been raining and all the lawn in garden is covered in moss. I guess by spring I will have Japanese garden!

    Mr Vine Eye's allotment is very nice... I did not realise you had so much going on there this year..

    @Victoria Sponge
    ...all your roses look ok, I wouldn't worry about that one... the only one that looks smallish is 'Mousseline'.. but I got a few thin ones from them last year and they all grew away no problems..

    @Tack
    ...that nursery is a new one on me... they have a few roses I might be interested in but I'm reluctant at the moment.. can I ask how long they took to arrive from ordering?.. thanks..

    @edhelka Yes.. i feel like a child in a candy shop really with this sudden gift of space to grow things in.. I’ve wanted to grow so many varieties that you all have shared on this thread.. plus more! I suppose I could treat the roses at the plot mainly as cut flowers.. time to do some research and revisit the photos shared earlier in this thread.

    @Mr. Vine Eye That’s an incredible transformation!! The fact that you have not created many raised beds is sort of reassuring to me in a way. I have been debating as to whether to go down that raised bed route (because most allotmenteers on social media seem to have rows upon rows of perfectly manicured raised beds that look so enticingly neat) but decided that given the cost and the temporary nature of my plot I would only create one small raised bed and I will grow everything else in the ground - most are flowers anyway so probably won’t benefit hugely from raised beds.

    @v@"Victoria Sponge" I literally just drooled over the TCL online catalogue (both the sheer variety and the incredible cost!) - how long did it take you from ordering to receiving the roses? I noticed that most of the DA roses are out of stock, but I did manage to bag myself a Vanessa bell and the ancient mariner - both of which I love so I can’t complain really..
