    Thanks @Marlorena. I'll pop it in the garage and definitely plant it outside in a temporary planting hole this weekend.

    I'm really hoping we get a good dumping of snow sometime in London. Right now it's just a day of fine drizzle.

    We have snow higher up in the mountains but not down here, just rain (a lot of it).
    @Tack I received the TCL despatch email last Friday, still nothing. I remember it quicker than this but all deliveries can be unpredictable these days.

    @Marlorena You were interested in my Style Roses order, here it is, 2x Munstead Wood. Quite small in person. These are to go with my existing one to make a trio. Let’s hope they beef up!

    @Tack, my TCL order took around 4 days. And yes all deliveries are unpredictable this year.

    @Marlorena, your garden is looking lovely in fresh snow.

    It had been raining for two days and soil in my garden is not at all free draining and very sticky clay. I dug up couple of shrubby salvias and left behind holes are full of water. I couldn't get john innes from GC and B&Q so have potted roses in combination of garden soil and compost. Bit worried now that those roses will struggle.

    ^decent feeding in Spring and they should be alright @newbie77
    ..thank you.. in time my fence will be covered in roses when they grow back up again.. all rather bare right now..

    @Omori
    ..thanks for showing... the right one is just adequate... I've seen better from them, but this rose isn't the most vigorous we've ever seen is it?..   I've got 2 own roots coming along nicely... I've read they grow better in alkaline conditions as own root, so I'm banking on that happening..

    @Tack
    ...beautiful picture... I'm surprised you've not had any snow, as you're probably not that far from me, as the crow flies..  must be quite localised..

    OK... question for you all if you'd like to participate..

    ..name the rose that has given you most pleasure this season... performed better than expected? taken you by surprise?...

    ..for me... 'Vanessa Bell'.. healthy and floriferous.. I did not like this rose in the first year, now I find it indispensable..

    over to you...

    A DA, that does surprise me Marlorena. I've only had most of my roses for half a season but although my heart wants to pick something dark-coloured the rose I can recommend without hesitation is Absolutely Fabulous, never without flowers and still healthy. I will always own this rose but hopefully next year I will be able to pick a rose that also makes my heart sing.

    I read that too, about Munstead Wood, @Marlorena and similarly have two cuttings on the go to see how they do own root. I took them pretty late but one has leaves already.

    Ooh, difficult to pick just one rose, but Stormy Weather has to be top, planted in Spring, grew well, extremely healthy, lovely foliage and flowered it’s socks off all season. Runner ups newbie is The Prince, again, really healthy and gorgeous blooms, if fewer than SW. Munstead Wood was my surprise. Still small, but it really took off this year and the early summer display was spectacular, the most blooms I have ever had on an Austin.
