Incidentally, if you are registered on Instagram, and you are considering adding 'The Country Parson' to your garden, you might want to look up Carl Bennett's page, as he's shown a wonderful picture of these roses in a set of vases... I was very taken by them..
In case you're not aware, Carl is the main hybridiser at DA roses.. I think they're as much his roses really although he's the little known name behind the scenes, albeit under the wing of the late David Austin..
He has interests in abandoned buildings, but DA is his day job..

This is my first bloom this year. Madame Alfred Carriere, she has  her roots round the corner on the North West facing wall but the buds on the sunny side are much more advanced. Loads more to come.

Thanks Omori... he's an old boy now, nearly 12... old for a Greyhound..

Suesyn... your rose is beautiful.. and what a lovely wall to train it up...

Edhelka.. your roses are so healthy looking... I sometimes think they do better in pots the first year... I do love the dark, almost bronze red foliage on Silas...

Pouring with rain here still, with no sign of letting up. Flooded everywhere! My roses are looking miserable and some unfurling buds are balling, so I fear I may lose the first flush on many  ☹️

..lovely isn't it?  I think you felt it was 'The Albrighton Rambler' last year?  I think that's right because the foliage is correct for that rose too.. it's also very Austin like..

..sorry about all the rain Nollie... sincerely hope you don't lose your first flush after all the work you put in... it's such a bummer when that happens..

Yes, I still think it is The Albrighton Rambler, everything's right, the way how it branches and flowers, foliage, the colour of the stems, buds and sepals, stipules... it just looks like I get quite a lot of untypical blooms. And they used to sell it in our local garden centre, I had a plan to go there and check and compare every detail in person but can't do that now obviously and it also looks like they are not selling it this year. I want to see it somewhere else in person to be 100% sure, I've been promised a trip to DA gardens this year... :( another plan that is not happening. Hopefully next year.

I adore EdH as well Wonky, the perfume is stunning and noticed my first bud was nearly out yesterday. You're ahead of me there, beautiful flowers. Gulp, does it really get 3 stories high? Oh dear!
