Well I’ll be extra pleased if it works @Omori! Dogs and Roses. In fact, dogs and gardens! I love them both but not always a happy combination.

At what stage can I tell when the dormant season has arrived, so I can start digging up and potting up some of my roses.

Gorgeous roses @Nollie, especially the Prince is looking sumptuous. My dog flattened a lovely big penstemon last night...  :|

Your roses in pots are doing incredibly well @Tack, what did you plant them in, rocket fuel?! My potted Heidi Klum, Rose de Rescht and Pure Poetry have only given me scattered blooms and nothing on any of them at the moment. They haven’t had any tomato feed though, I ran out ages ago and couldn’t get any more. I’ve just moved them into fuller sun in the hope that might spur them into some late blooms. The European EvS is likely to be the pink not much scent polyantha rather than the US version, but I liked the look of it anyway.

Lovely blooms everyone. I am still getting some but they are only pretty from distance. We are now getting rain almost every day and it's also cold and many roses don't open properly.

That rose is Dames de Chenonceau @newbie77 .

Thank you @Nollie. My pots are filled with a unique recipe! Being unable to get any compost during lockdown other than some coir,  I made up a mix 1/1/1 (ish)of own garden compost, the coir and the soil that had gathered at the bottom of a steep slope at the front of the house. I added a scoop of Miracle grow slow release granules when I potted up but that ran out, no idea which roses got it and which didn't. The soil was full of bits and seeds but weeding the pots hasn't been too onerous. 2 feeds with tomorite are all I've added until the seaweed drench recently.
I do like to see the comments on HMF when there is some query as to authenticity. It's fascinating

Sounds as if not being able to get compost was a good thing @Tack. I usually try and add some garden soil to the pots, but its a scarce commodity, being mostly rock and rock hard clay. You are right, pots are sufficiently contained, weed wise, so I will remember that and add some homemade compost to the mix next time.

@peteS - roses are dormant generally during November to Jan/Feb when they've lost all their leaves and there are no new shoots. it should be safe enough to dig them up then and put them into pots. I'm sure the others will correct me if I'm wrong!
