  • I got a notification from Tuincentrum Lottum this morning saying they would despatch end of the week/beginning of next.  Just as a warning order to anyone waiting for update.  This order was placed Aug/Sept time.

Sadly one is not available, Fimbriata which I wanted to test in a shady area.

  • Gosh you still have alot of colour @Tack, including the snowdrops!  Charles Darwin looks like a great yellow.  I always think I don't have enough yellow in the garden.

Yes shame about Fimbriata, I was looking forward to that one.  Maybe I'll find one or something else around sale time. I quite like the look of the Grootendorsts too.

..fabulous... and your roses are potted up so nicely..  it's a weird season, snowdrops and roses...   yes they use Crocus, as do the RHS and others... sometimes offers are different...

@Tack Beautiful. Your garden has to be really warm and dry.

Gorgeous roses, @Tack. My mother has Burgundy Ice against a sunny fence and it's a magnificent bush, about head height.
  • @Tack -- amazing display still! What happened to charles darwin colour in the heatwave btw?
Kindness is always the right choice.

I received two lots today. I am unimpressed by both.
The first is from Beales, Kiss me Kate and General Schablikine.

Detail of Kiss me Kate, horrible plant, two canes, both in the same direction:

The second order is from Agel Rosen. They replaced bare root roses with 2l potted (and one bigger one) without telling me. I am not sure if the 2l roses are the same value as 2-year old bare root roses, Melina looks small and spindly, but other than that, they look OK. At least I don't have to hurry with planting them.

@Tack, your garden is like still in summer! Lovely flowers. I like Charles Darwin. Mine is in shade so i had good colour mostly. But it has lots of blackspots. Anyway it is far end of garden, so its ok. I like its fragrance somuch that i am getting another one. It is my fav to cut and bring inside.

I hadn't initially planned roses as cut flowers, but every morning going out in garden and getting a jam jar possie had been my fav thing to do this year. With my job and little kid i hardly ever get a chance to sit in garden. This little bouquet gives me pleasure all day. So i have ordered another one of fav roses to keep in pots to cut flowers.
