I have Pensham Czar too. Lovely plant and they are quite easy to propagate from cuttings. I wish I had more space for penstemons... they are also almost evergreen here.

What do people think of pheno Geno roses? I stumbled across them on Trevor white roses but can't find any reviews online. Is anyone growing one?

No, not for me... just more David Austin look-a-like roses from Serbia, or is it Holland?... I'm confused enough as it is.. but I wish them well, the more roses the better..

I know what you mean @Marlorena - as a newbie there's so many options out there that it can be overwhelming. I was just intrigued by claims that they're completely disease resistant and bred for flavour as well as fragrance. I'm tempted to buy one and see what it does. They're not that expensive ...

@adanac85 I especially like the look of Natalija. Unfortunately they are out of stock and only available for pre-ordering.

Thank you! I found the video on Facebook. Thanks for the YouTube link as well to the film Marlorena

    ‘You-stay-sha’ or ‘You-stay-she-a’

    David Austin Jr said ‘You-stay-zee-a’

I’ll pick one and say it with confidence!

I like Penstemon - I have Schoenholzeri (Firebird), Raven and Arctic Fox.

Arctic Fox has flower buds developing already. Just checked, that is a Pensham one!

I think the first the one is right, Mary Berry is rather odd in her some of her pronunciations. Such as how she prounounces "Austin". She is very endearing all the same
  • @Mr. Vine Eye saying thinks with confidence. Even if you're wrong people still think you're right. I do it with the wife all the time when shes on her way home and rings asking if I've done jobs around the house.

Hopefully my rose with flower soon. So many buds on at the minute. It tends to be June when it flowers.

and bred for flavour as well as fragrance.
Wonder what they taste like - roses, I suppose.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Isn't this pretty...called a Persian Love Cake - which apparently is candied rose petals with rose scented whipped cream on a cardamom chiffon cake.

Rose taste nice. They don't have any strong flavour. If you don't spray the plant, you can try one  :)
