..thank you... yes she repeats well, and has a good fragrance.. I don't know what of exactly,..what we might call musky.. ..a more fuller bloom.. ..it forms clusters too.. I shall be keeping this rose for sure, in a larger pot, as it seems suited to pot culture..
...here's a new rose for @Nollie ...it's seed parent is 'Life of the Party', which is an offspring of Julia Child and Stormy Weather.. both lines going back to the well known 'Summer Wine', a rose which gives much of itself to the blue roses like Rhapsody in Blue and Blue For You.. ..I rather like the look of this myself... aka Queen of Elegance..
Thank you @Omori I do like english plant names... 'loosestrife'
@Marlorena Thank you for the information that Aquarelle does well in a pot, now I can see myself getting it.
I have had a rain shower! Nothing to trouble the gutters but I expect everything will appreciate the wet.
Not yet a candidate for the clematis/rose partnership thread but I have high hopes. The 6 day old Alexander bloom with my only Viticella Alba Luxurians from a tortuous angle.
Too many flowers for a tiny Rambling Rosie to manage
Claire Austin is giving me better flowers and I just love Wollerton Old Hall whatever it serves up
@rock_hen 'Arthur Bell' (floribunda) and 'Arthur Bell, Cl.' (climber) are two different roses, the climbing version is a sport (genetic mutation) of the shrub version.
With roses that can be grown as both, there can be a huge difference. Imagine not pruning a rose at all and giving it some support. The support allows it to grow taller and the new growth is layered on top of the previous year growth. On the other hand, imagine a DA shrub being cut back by 1/3 every year. That's basically removing the previous year growth every year.
@Guernsey Donkey2 and @Tack, both your Rambling Rosies are doing much better than mine! Hope mine is a good splash of colour one day, it's in summer #2 and is smaller than my penstemons when trained along the fence!
I've planted a new rose this afternoon, but now realise, silly me, I've planted it in the wrong spot, should've been a foot or so to it's right. Can I dig it up again and move it, or is it now best to leave it until it is dormant in the Autumn. It's a Hybrid Tea "Silver Jubilee".
Not much is happening in my garden. Most of the roses aren't blooming for the minute and the sweet peas are poised to take off. Heartily sick of the drizzle though.
The only thing that is growing are the weeds and at an alarming rate!
So, please show me all your gardens so I don't look at my own.
It's exactly the same here, Katsa. These days are really for dreaming only.
I like 'Queen of Elegance' linked by Marlorena a lot. I also like its parent, 'Life of the Party'. Its other parent, 'Coco Loco', not that much, I am not into brown roses.

I'm in love with Beales Churchill Rose, smells wonderful too. It does suffer from black spot though

@Marlorena thank you for the extra photos of Aquarell. Will have to put this on my wish list. Such a beautiful rose and being fragrant is a bonus!!
