I'm continuing the mask-wearing too. I understand the need to lift restrictions, but I see that as being the ones that required businesses to close and people to not see family and friends. Mask-wearing (and frequent hand washing/sanitising, and trying not to stand close to people you don't know in shops etc) are so easy that I don't see why more people aren't continuing with them.

I think maybe because COVID case numbers etc aren't the top headline news, people are thinking it's not a problem any more.

Quite a lot of mask wearing round here. Even saw people wearing their masks outiside on walks. I’m expecting to see an influx of unmasked visitors when the schools break up. We tend to keep to ourselves during holiday periods anyway, gets far too busy on the roads as well as by the sea.

"None so blind as them what won't listen"  eh @JennyJ?

I agree - not a major headline, so nothing to see here....

@pansyface   Maybe you need to get on to your consultant about your letter,  my son had his 4th about a month ago.  Or maybe start with the doctor and he’ll advise you.
Apparantly they’re sending out 600,000 letters in this coming week.

I had thought it was also for everyone over 75?

That's awfully bad service @pansyface.  No wonder you're fed up.

Is there not a local vaccination centre where you could get a slot, or maybe get a district nurse to come to you and do the deed?   Then maybe a letter to the College of General Practitioners - https://www.rcgp.org.uk/ - to highlight your concerns about utter lack of service.   While you're on, have a look at their latest info on vaccinations and write one more time - registered post - telling him/her/them that they are failing in their duty of care to vulnerable patients.

Very angry for you.  Good luck.

Contact Healthwatch Derbyshire, tell them the problem.
Also contact the Practice Manager at your GP's and tell them you will be making a complaint unless you get an appointment for the booster.

Pansyface, does your practice do e-consult? I’ve had more success with that than trying to book appointments, or get a doctor to call back by phone.
Glad you’ve been able to start visiting hubby again, @Hostafan1
