It's a strange time isn't it? It has to get back to that at some point, but I'm with you as I'm not as yet convinced that the timing is right.
Only time will tell now if the drop in cases is an illusion caused by the non-testing of school kids, and people now not wanting to test because they don't want to isolate (and with the jab the symptoms aren't too bad anyway - so why test?). I just hope it's not an illusion and the hospitalisations/deaths also correspondingly drop in due course - but I have a sneaky suspicion that won't be the case.
@pansyface, My feeling is that if you've been double jabbed and unless you were jammed face to face for more than 15 minutes with somebody who already had Covid, you are unlikely to catch Covid out in the open air.
Yes @Lizzie but @Pansyface has health issues so can't be so blazé. I've seen publicity here for nocturnal markets in local holiday resorts. I won't be going. The tourists and holiday homers have led to a huge spike in infections in our area.

If it were only local people milling around I might feel slightly, only slightly more at ease. But the town is a magnet for day trippers from Manchester, Birmingham, Sheffield and all their satellite towns.
My own health issues aside, the atmosphere in the town was one of “YIPPEEEE, let’s go mad!”
Think of it that you're very lucky that you get to live somewhere all year round that's so nice lots of people from elsewhere want to come and spend their precious leisure time there.
Exactly why we stay away from the beach resorts along the coats here. From mid July to end August they are heaving anyway and with Covid on the loose they are not safe - brains left at home and no distancing and not all masking tho current rules say they should.

Hello all! Not been on for a while but have been looking in. Had some health problems caused by an antibiotic that is used here but has bee virtually banned in the UK. Electrolyte levels all over the place and anaemia as well, so now on the folic acid and feeling more myself! Hugs to @Hostafan1 I have been thinking of you and all others in need (i know there are quite a few) . I have a surplace of courgettes, cucumbers and aubergines I wish the tomatoes would hurry up and ripen. We have noticed how much quieter it is this year re holiday makers, no Brits to speak of. Catch you all later
An I am old cynic or are the numbers really going down just because people have switched off the app or are not bothering to report a mild infection. That's fine so long as hospitalisation doesn't go up in a couple of weeks.
