OH gets his 3rd jab next week, mine is on the 30th so 12 months to the day.  OH had his flu jab this morning and is now feeling ropey as he already had a cold coming on.  Hope it's not the demon bug that's doing the rounds.  Either way, I don't want that cold.

Possum is off to Edinburgh tomorrow so had to go and do a PCR test this morning as Ryanair won't let you board without one.  It's still free in France for those who are double vaccinated but costs 49€ for those who aren't.  Once arrived she'll need a lateral flow test on the 2nd day but can have it delivered to the hotel.  29€ in France.  No idea in Scotland.

  • I was in the queue for the doctor's surgery on the landline when my mobile pinged saying 'book now for your booster'.
    Wasn't that convenient!

I am booked for my booster this afternoon!  AND my two primary aged kids can get their first shots next Monday!!  They are offering drive thru mass child vaccination sites in Utah, and boosters for adults all at the same time.

Good news @Blue Onion, hadn't realized they were also doing boosters in the US.

  • I had the Booster text today … I’m booked in on the 15th. 👍
The online booking site said I’d get either Pfizer or Moderna.

Great news @Blue Onion.  Sounds like Utah has itself organised for those wanting the vaccination.

Yes!  Pretty easy to get, as we are currently at 35% of the county having received two shots.. that is despite mass vaccination sites at convenient locations and times, walk-in's welcome at any big box store, and other such efforts.

Just watching the BBC Breakfast and I thought they said that irrespective of who manufactured the original dose(s), the booster dose will be RNA based - again, not by any specific manufacturer. Which seems to confirm what was said here back in September: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-09-14/u-k-sidelines-homegrown-astra-vaccine-in-mrna-booster-push

Both had our flu jabs and Covid boosters ( Pfizer this time) on Thursday. GP waiting room was empty, seen on time. Nurse told me that weekend sessions were much busier ie fast moving queues across car park and a one way system. Because we were booked on a weekday, they didn’t want queues disrupting the other clinics and surgeries, so it was very peaceful. Slight tenderness in both upper arms, but otherwise fine so far.
