  • I had my booster on Thursday. When I went online to book, couldn't get a slot much before the end of the month, but there was a pop up walk-in listed, so took a chance on that and got my jab, no problem. Gains me 2 more weeks protection :)
The surgery rang me about a shingles jab, so I'm booked in for that next Thursday. I'm starting to feel like a teabag, all these little perforations!

    A warning.

A local lady 63, fit and healthy, double jabbed, led by all accounts a sensible COVID avoiding lifestyle, died on Friday in our local ICU.
I was talking to an ICU colleague about this and he said that currently one third of their COVID patients are double jabbed.
    Food for thought.

@punkdoc and @CostumedVole   I would say "C'est la vie."  We can still get the "flu'" even when vaccinated.  It's just how our bodies are ready to cope with it.  Call it what you like - destiny/your number is up/bad luck.  Win some, lose some.

I have just had the 3rd jab.  I wear a mask, keep my distance etc.  But you never know where people have been ..... as the saying goes.

Interesting and sad @punkdoc . He has been noting up-thread to keep being careful.

Keep distancing, wear masks, wash hands, get jabs, ventilate rooms and try not to get covid. Don't be blasé, thinking jabs will protect you and you or family can swan about not caring, even if you have no underlying health conditions. Even if we are careful, we can't be sure. But it pays to be careful. Keep on keeping on. Even if it's boring, it will save lives. 🌱

It says here it may be that 19 million lives have been lost to covid. That's equivalent to the whole population of Chilie. Gone.

Yes, I think that was the message I had in mind.
I think a lot of vaccinated people think that the problem has gone away, it really hasn't.
Immunity in double vaccinated people is starting to decrease, very significantly in some people.
I also think that people who are due to have a booster over the next couple of months should be particularly careful.
It is difficult to convey severity, without sometimes sounding alarmist, but most people on here seem eminently sensible and will draw the appropriate conclusions?

Thanks again and always for all the endless hard work you are doing on this front and many others @punkdoc

It must be so hard to watch people throwing their health away every day for a largely preventable disease. This disease and others.
