Plus wouldn't you think that a testing centre would ensure that you could not possibly be within the app's bluetooth distance while you were queueing for
steveTuYou'd have one hell of a long queue as depending on which version of Bluetooth your phone has the range is from 30 meters to 400 meters so impractical unless your on an airfield or such like where there's space to have such a distance between those in a queue. But, I feel for you after reading your experience it is bonkers, but not sure what you can do other than the right thing as you did . So well done you.

You don't have to go to a testing centre to get tests. My local pharmacy has them and on a whim while I was there, I asked if I could have a box and was actually given two, so 14 tests in all (free). I had to fill in a questionaire and say why I wanted them but when I replied saying I thought they might just come in handy one day, I was told to tick the box 'Other reason'!
Once I'd read the instructions on how to do it, I quietly put them away in the cupboard - there's no way I'm going to do that unless absolutely forced to. I wonder how many people there are like me with boxes in cupboards.
Is that 'true' as the app works as a range limiter in a fashion (it doesn't adjust the range, just detects it)? I thought the app worked to the following chart - so even though BT works over a greater distance the BT detects, by the strength of the signal, a rough distance and presumably ignores stuff over circa 4m
Whether they tweaked the app for Delta I don't know (as presumably as it was more transmissable it would need less time in someone's presence)...
So in my 'theory' I am A my son is a and other people are p1 etc. < indicates direction of travel (no that it matters) and +, - is assumed test result, in bold is actual test result.
Edited to add: But how can you tell if you're not given the contact details? All I really needed to know was when and points scored (location would be good but not necessary), and I could tell you exactly how and why I got pinged - which is why I asked the T&T tech link for that to be added way way back. And on an operational level, to have queues (and we queued for 50+ minutes) where a 4m distance isn't enforced, is just barking isn't it if the app still works to the same parameters.
Are those lateral flow? I actually wanted a PCR test 'to be sure'. If those are PCR, then I'll go to my local pharmacy after isolating and get a pair of tests.

I’m glad I haven’t got a phone with apps.
