@Dovefromabove I guess the WI could be active and key in rural parts.

How many people stockpiling bread flour actually know what to do with it?I

There's a Tesco local up the road which has plenty of local trade,. At Christmas, when shoppers are preparing for a siege and now ,it's pretty well stocked and no queuing.
Down the road, there is a superstore which has traffic warden types at Christmas and a couple of normal SMs. Long may they drive past and queue.

@B3, it's a long time since I baked bread from scratch, so I bought bags of bread mix - hopefully I just mix it with water!!
Our little local shop also seems well stocked up at the moment but that won't help much if we're not allowed out.

I only buy it to make crumpets, they didn’t have any yeast though, but I have some in the cupboard.

Ask for help @Lizzie27 (see earlier posts) - I am sure someone will be happy to shop for things you need and deliver them to your door.

I was just speaking to my mum-in-law about the fact that many people can’t (or never have) cook and bake from scratch. I have a couple of bread mixes and can make things likes scones, cakes and pastry - as can she.
no slots for Sainsbury’s delivery here either. Ruined my plans for the oldies currently but I’ll think of something.

I make my own bread always - mostly. It peeves me when I can't get hold of bread flour, knowing the stockpilers will leave it somewhere to rot in case they need it after they discover that there is no shortage of plastic bread.

We always make our own too ... we’ve got enough for a couple of weeks ... I may have to drive out to the local miller and buy some direct from him
