I've no hope of having mine for some time as I live in France. I'm roughly the same age as Dove.

Really pleased to see confirmation by experts (profs) my reaction means basically I am Superwoman, at 70, I have the grand immune system of someone aged 20 to 40, (NO, I am NOT telling you where I bought it!!!) or maybe I have had Covid with no symptoms whatsoever!! Haven't received my antibody results from the trial yet, obviously, the labs are busy.  It was a blood test,. not swab so by all accounts far more realiable.

I spoke to my neighbour yesterday, she is the same age as me and her husband is 76, she says he cannot get an appointment yet. As you say @Busy-Lizzie no hope for us yet.
  • My friend of almost 80 living in Brittany cant get one. She asked her Doctor who shrugged and said he didnt have a clue!  There are still people living there who get their prescriptions sent over from the UK by others living in the UK. How can they possibly expect a vaccination,if they arent in the French health system. Some people really do leave their brains at the airport.
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.

It does seem perverse to move abroad but still live as tho in one's home country.   It's easy enough to sign up for a "carte vitale" to get health cover in France.  We have and I get all the usual stuff like invitations for cancer screening, flu jabs etc and, in due course, the Covid jab.

@AuntyRach there are some people who clearly think a PM needs to be seen showing the "common touch" and supporting people dealing with crises and, TBH, I don't suppose a dose of repetitive, physical work will do him any harm.

However, I'd rather he directed his intellectual talents to how society is to learn from the crisis and the exit strategy that will see a fairer, more equitable society with care and opportunity for all levels of skill and ability.

Every time a politician turns up for a photo op it causes very unwelcome disruption for the unfortunate chosen recipient organisation. Frankly it just makes the politician look stupid and incompetent so I really don't know why they do it. The PM seems particularly devoted to such stupidity but I guess any day out of the office is a good day.
