OH and I had our 2nd jabs on Friday, again no side-effects except slightly sore arms and in my case a bit of swelling (it looked like I had an egg under my skin for a day or so). The thing I can't seem to find out is how long the protection from the vaccine lasts. How long before the most vulnerable people who had their full course in December/January before the interval was extended from 3 weeks to 12 start to be susceptible to severe illness from COVID again?

I don't think anyone yet knows how long the vaccine protection lasts. Hopefully that means that the people in the original trials are still showing antibodies so they don't yet know when they wear off.

OH and I were both sent antibody testing kits over the last week from the NHS/Imperial College research study. We both had strong positive results which was very reassuring (we're both fully vaccinated and OH also had Covid in March 2020).

That's reassuring. I hope it's the same for everyone.

I have now had my 2nd AstraZeneca jab.No side effects this time at all.
My son (35) had his 1st Pfizer jab a couple of days ago.
Where we live I think we have 'run out' of older age groups for now so powering along with the younger set!

Both my husband and I had a delayed reaction to our second vaccination. We were congratulating ourselves on not feeling too bad in the days immediately following, just a bit of a sore arm,  but a few days after that, nearly a week later, we both felt under the weather, a bit shivvery and headachey - enough to take paracetamol. That lasted a couple of days and then we were OK again. We had the Pfizer. Has anyone else had a delayed reaction like that?  Odd that it should affect both of us in the same way.

OH just told me he has a sore throat but I suspect that's because he'd been snoring with his mouth open all night.
