Or smoke, or drink alcohol or drive a car or do diy or.............. the list goes on. We all take risks every day, the truth is that until enough people have been vaccinated so that those concerned about Covid can feel safe we won’t get our normal lives back That’s the reason I got mine and all my friends and family got theirs or will get them when offered.

I gave myself a tattoo on my thumb. I slipped with a pen and stabbed myself deeply enough that the ink is still visible four years later :#
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Its not about feeling safe, its about our health service not collapsing under the added pressure, which it came close to a few times over the last year, and the after effects will be felt for a long time.

It amazes me that people who will happily take 'recreational ' drugs or have tattoos will refuse a vaccine.
    Its perceived risk/benefit.

For a healthy 25 year old who's not that scientifically literate, they get instant 'benefit' (if you like that kind of thing) from the tattoo/ecstasy/alcohol etc. but they don't see the benefit to them of the vaccine.

Combine that with the insanity that social media has unleashed and that we're living in a time of rampant conspiracy theories...

I'm not saying I agree with it, but I can understand it why its happening.

Is it men who have a worse reaction to the vaccination as both my SIL were bad?
I was fine but my husband wasn't but his reaction came 7  days after his jab, he was sick and couldnt get out of bed, it was several days before he felt any better but he does have quite a few health issues.

No, not related to sex or gender.

It is, however, influenced by whether people believe they will react badly or not.

No it’s not, my sister thought she would be ill and wasn’t. I actually wanted to be a bit ill to justify time off work, just a sore arm. It’s more about the vaccine given, other medical conditions and many people believe you get a worse reaction if you have had the virus.

JoeX, that's complete insulting rubbish, I was fine for 13 hours didn't expect any reaction, and bearing in mind it's your immune system, you don't get too much say,on your reaction.I have several friends who are shocking hypercondriacs who were practically foreseeing death following the jab and had nothing at all
