Both my brothers (both with serious health issues) had their jabs yesterday which I'm so pleased about.

My parents had theirs too. They walked about 50 minutes each way (no buses or taxis due to snow, apparently stuck buses were blocking the roads on the hilly bits).

    Tele-porting?

Presumably you go straight home by the most direct means and equipped with mask, hand-sanitiser etc. and then stay there till you are safe for other people.

Just got my vaccine last night, and my husband got his today.  We're both middle age teachers.. our state put educators after front line medial workers and overlapped with 70+ years old.  It was a rough night last night, moderate flu like side effects.. but I feel okay now - about 24 hours later.  I am excited to get it (with the second dose in a month) and be a part of my community and country getting back to 'normal'.

Well done to all those going for their jabs.   Let's hope it works and we start to get some control.   Happy for you @Blue Onion .  It can't be easy for you at the mo.

The vaccine programme is being rolled out here too, from Monday, and starting with the 75+ and people in homes.   OH and I should be in the next phase.

The powers that be have closed our local vaccination centre in favour of a location in Guildford 15 miles away. Apparently the local centre (a church hall which covered 90+% of the population within a mile radius) was deemed difficult to access with limited parking despite having served its local congregation successfully for over a century. There has been no explanation of how the less than mobile first few tranches of over 80s etc. are expected to get there. >:)
