Dove, the common cold is a coronavirus, but aparently you never catch the same one twice,  there are 2000, different ones,I probably shouldnt say this, but I cant remember the last time I had a cold.
There are 7 coronaviruses that affect humans.  4 of them cause colds, 3 are more serious and can cause acute respiratory syndromes.

Colds can also be caused by rhinoviruses, of which there are 3 types, and they are more common than the coronaviruses.

Rhinoviruses cause the vast majority of colds, about 60-80%.  Coronaviruses cause about 10-15%.  The rest are caused by one of about 200 other viruses that can cause similar symptoms, including influenza viruses.

You do get some temporary and/or limited immunity to whichever virus gave you your cold, and that might mean next time you catch that particular virus you don’t notice, or you only get very mild symptoms like a runny nose for 12 hours rather than days of sneezing and feeling run down.

I rarely get colds too Nanny Beach, I think some people’s immune systems can remember them longer!

I heard that if you mention mother goose three times all your tomatoes will get blight. :o
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

I live on the Isle of Wight.
The app here is just a trial for now so you can only download if you are an Island resident.
It will be rolled out to the rest of the country when bugs etc have been sorted.
The biggest problem at the moment it seems is it is not compatible with anything below Android 8.
My Doro phone (and my 86 year old Mum's) is only Android 4.4.2
Even my daughters phone which is only 3 years old is not compatible so obviously work needs to be done on that so more can use it.
Last time I heard 43,000 people had downloaded it which I think is great!

That is exactly how my ex colleagues are feeling too.
I was asked to go back, but my own health issues have prevented that and although I feel rather guilty, I really would not want to be on ICU now.

No need for you to feel guilty @punkdoc ... I should be sewing PPE but I can’t even knit at the moment, let alone use a sewing machine, with this neck/shoulder pain. I’ve just triggered it again by putting a chicken in the oven 🤬

I have thought quite hard about whether I should write this or not, but as some of you know, I still do some work for the DoH relating to COVID and ICU.
A few days ago as part of a Zoom chat, one of the modellers from the London School of Hygiene team was talking about what they believe will be the 2nd. and 3rd. peaks of the virus.
If they are right this is very far from over.
As I have said before, I write these things not to alarm, but to educate [ if that does not sound too pompous ], so please don't take offence, or, attack me.
