so now, I guess,  every family will walk round supermarkets separately with individual trolleys  and folk will give their shopping lists to their elderly parents , or have it delivered to their elderly parents houses.

I am off to the supermarket as soon as I've had my second coffee.   I have to go on my own and carry my attestation.  I'll let you know how I get on.

Interesting that in Italy where the outbreak is worse and they have all that excitable Latin temperament there has been no panic buying and hoarding.

That Mediterranean climate and lots of opera is keeping them occupied @Obelixx ;)

Morning all/afties Pat. Hope the ice cream was tasty  ;)
I think there will always be those who buck the system @Hostafan1. It makes it very difficult for everyone though. I don't know why all the supermarkets didn't clamp down sooner on the nonsense though, and make sure checkout staff were clued up. Look at @fidgetbones's story yesterday  :/
Thanks @Allotment Boy. You'll be fine for fruit/veg anyway - are you sick of winter greens yet! I expect, in your case, you'll just have to change your habits. I'm the same - buy several packs of chicken/pork etc, and then it's just the odd things like milk that get topped up. Sorry it was difficult for you too @Fritillary. I think some places are harder hit than others too.
Had a lovely start to the day here [not light at 6am here yet  ;) with a wee nip of frost, but by half seven the sun was getting everything bright. Unfortunately, daughter had some fallout from the other day, so hugs, cuddles and reassurance were needed, and then a trip to work, as she'd missed the bus by then. I then managed to step in something unsavoury, so I've had to clean the kitchen floor, the doormat and my shoes. >:)
Just as well it's a nice day.....

I've been amusing myself ...  I just had a phone call from Isaac at Microsoft about problems with my computer ... I gushed in my 'little old lady' voice that it was wonderful that he'd called as his colleagues had phoned me a while ago and said they would send someone around to fix my laptop but they hadn't come, and I'd baked a cake and everything ..... he was a bit non-plussed for a moment and then explained that due to the crisis throughout the country they are unable to send technicians out to fix things in person ... so ... wait for it ... they've invented a way to fix computers over the phone  😲😲😲

I then told him in my 'absolutely furious' voice that he was a dirty rotten scammer and he should get off my phoneline ... OH is in hysterics  🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    @Dovefromabove- they're ar**holes, but it's great fun eh?  :D

I kinda miss the ones we used to get at work. My colleague and I used to really take the p*ss with them. Some were quite persistent, but we were up to the challenge.  ;)

Andrew has said he can't be bothered now. We will make do with what we have. Luckily we have a few chickens and the suckler cows have started to calve. If we speak nicely to them they will let us have a jug full.

There's no way I'm paid enough to police folk at the tills. I'm sure your daughter feels the same.

I wasn't rude to anyone. I honestly thought it was 3  of each item. I would not have picked them up otherwise. They just got put to one side. :(

@hostafan,  yes agree, I can see that happening, we were talking about this last night, people will just go back in  again,  or as you say, go in separately.

It has to get tougher, you can’t rely on people ‘doing the right thing’.
Friend in Spain says only one person out for shopping, people are being fined for flouting the rules, hope they do that here as well, I feel so sorry for the old folks who could buy trolley loads of stuff as they only have pensions.

If anyone wants pheasant or rabbits, we can oblige 😉

I wasn't having a go at you @Fritillary. You were clearly just buying what you would normally buy. There are some who think it's fine to be selfish though. :/
I think it would definitely have helped if there had been some restrictions much earlier on though, and then you, and thousands of others, wouldn't be struggling to get basic goods.
Do you sell your milk locally, or in a farm shop, or is it just for your own use?
