Just heard that Sainsbury's hourly slot for oldies starts at 7 am! crickes! It's still dark then, isn't it? We'll have to set the alarm.

@Lizzie27 well its light here at 6am & we are not that far away.
@Hostafan1 Morrisons recon they are going to recruit loads of new drivers and extend their delivery hours so it can be done.
@Fairygirl- sorry to hear about young Fairylets experience people can just be so stupid.

One thing concerns me about this you can only have 3 of same item, we usually shop for the whole week, so we might often buy 4 meat items or 4 fish  items in any given week, so unless we buy big packs of meat & have the same thing several days we will be stuck. We also shop & cook for OH daughters family at least once a week on her busiest work day. How does anyone prove or disprove you are buying for others & not overbuying for yourself?

I don't understand why SMs think OAP's are larks.  I'm an owl and would really struggle to get to an SM that early as it takes half an hour to get there anyway.

I shall see how things are her tomorrow when I go and do our weekly shop, alone, cos OH is not allowed to accompany me.   Could be interesting.

@Allotment Boy - you can probably buy 3 or 4 or 5 kinds or cuts of meat, just not umpteen packs of the same thing.

@Allotment Boy I think it's for household items, such as Persil, washing up liquid, loo roll packs (assuming there are any, none here).

I went to our local pharmacy for our usual scripts yesterday and poor Gayle was run off her feet. People are stockpiling their medicines!  We went back after shopping but she still needed half an hour to do ours. I don’t think she had a lunch break.  We sat in McDonalds car park in the shade of a tree and licked ice creams. 😁  I felt so sorry for her.

We are having a last heat period here before winter takes over.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
    Hope we’re all well 👍
It’s a bit dull out there but it is brightening up a bit ... there is no rain forecast ... some weeding may be on the cards 🌱

We took two cattle to market yesterday and went to do our shopping in asda as we were already out. We were able to get fresh veg and so also got a packet of spring greens and cauliflower for Andrew's 86 year old mum who lives in the granny annex. When we got to checkout they took away most of our veg as they said we were only allowed 3 items of veg. We ended up with 1 bag of potatoes, 1 cauliflower, and 1 pack of spring greens. They took away a pack of peppers, onions, 2 courgettes, carrots, mother's spring greens and cauliflower and another bag of spuds. We will have to go out again now to try and get mum some more veg. Oh and get some more for ourselves.  We were only trying to limit our trips out to one a week. We do usually take mum with us on a Friday and only go shopping once a week. It was just a normal shop for us. All the best to everyone and hope you are all able to get what you need, and carry on gardening.  :)  Katie.

That’s rough Fritillary. You and Hubby might have to go in separately.
